Member Harassment

Anyone ever have luck with eBay customer service when dealing with a member harassing you on multiple platforms (eBay, Instagram, etc)?

I will not divulge details, just wondering if anyone had an issue and it was handled appropriately.

You have appareently reported as much as you can, so not sure what advice will satisfy you, members on this board have no control over anything that is happening to you.

You can block them on your social media accounts.  You can block them here and not communicate nor escalate matters with them in any way, but retain all messages for the record.  You can report to eBay.  But there are levels of harassment - none of us here know the content of these messages, nor can we tell you precisely what eBay does (as already mentioned they don't divulge it).  All we can tell you is what we did.  eBay certainly has no control over IG or any other SM platform.

Also, you say 'they were supposed to be blocked' - did you, yourself block this individual from further purchases?  eBay isn't going to place names on your blocked bidder list - that is under your control - do it now if you haven't.  I have no idea what they meant by 'supposed to be blocked', but do this now.  *If you yourself already placed them on your blocked bidder, they have circumvented your BBL which is against site rules.

In my case, I ignored the individual but retained all of the messages - this was another seller.  The messages stopped after several tries on their part and there was no further trouble.  Later on I found they had been booted from the site, so obviously I was not the only one they hassled.

And since the block didn't go through, they bought something just to give me negative feedback.

Cancel as Problem with Address.

The problem being you don't want to ship to that address.

Based on the OP's fresh red donut, they already bought the item.

Ebay has no authority to do anything on any other site than their own.

More deductions than assumptions.

It was obvious the two of you exchanged bad feedbacks because of the similarities in the wording.  You left a lengthy, neutral feedback that slammed and shamed the other member.  It was unnecessarily harsh IMHO if your intent was only to inform other buyers.  The member/seller then struck back by leaving negative feedback for a similar item they had purchased from you.

Neither of the feedbacks makes you look good to future buyers ... and will not help you sell items.  I would think it would be to your advantage to make both of them go away.

Rather than trying to get eBay to referee the feud ... which is only likely to escalate it further ... it makes more sense to me that you and the 'harasser' simply revise the feedbacks.  That's still possible, since both were left within the past 30 days.

Anyway, this is only my opinion and unrequested advice.  Feel free to ignore it.  🙂

Excellent observation, I completely agree.

Regarding the neutral you left for that seller.  As a seller if you create your shipping labels in Ebay, you should be well aware that the label system has defaulted to select what they call is the Buyer's Choice for a very long time and it is NOT necessarily correct.  You should be very aware of this.  It isn't a new problem.  So in the FB you left for that seller, you blamed them for something that could have EASILY been a simply human error.  We all make them from time to time.

For example:  When I go to print a shipping label, most of the time it defaults to Priority Mail and it tells be that the Buyer Selected it.  There isn't a single listing I have that even offers PM, so it simply is not possible for a buyer to select it as it is NOT an option.
