Massive Slowdown of USPS Shipments

Hi all -

I did a small search hoping there were other sellers having issues and if this topic has been beat to death I apologize in advance!

I've been seeing an incredible slowdown of all my packages. I understand the reasons why, but I'm unsure how, if at all, my account will be protected.

Out of around 100 packages sent within the last 3 or so weeks, only 30% of them have been delivered. Most of my items are getting stuck for one to two weeks at Regional facilities. I've started getting a lot of messages from buyers as well as some cases being opened up. I'm keeping up on explaining the situation but I'm really afraid my account is about to be dinged very hard. All of my items are shipped on time and I purchase all my shipping through eBay.

I'm prepared to take some losses financially, but I'm really afraid of losing my top seller status or even my account. For the time being I've suspended all my listings and will contemplate reopening around the end of June until some normalcy returns.

Any advice out there to put my mind at ease?

Thanks and stay safe.

It seems like most of my buyers just message me but I've been having people open cases the DAY an item is supposed to arrive. Even the eBay page to open a case has a banner that states there is a slowdown of delivery but I know most people won't read it at all.

Fun times!

Pony Express was faster.

And the carrier didn't cut thru my newly planted garden to save a few steps either!

yep! Happening to a lot of us I am sure. Im actually pretty disgusted with ebay and its buyers lately. They are rude and impatient and opening cases on me as well. They seem to have no idea that millions of people are shopping from home spending stimulus money...and they simply do Not care! My account was perfect before all of this, I am a long time seller, of 16 years! Now I have negatives and neutral feedbacks on the last pages of my profile. Ive had at least 10 cases opened, and all because they simply cannot wait for things. Amazon is currently protecting my account from this kind of feedback. Ebay is NOT! I am reporting them but nothing is happening they are all still there damaging my account when I have done nothing wrong. Its very frustrating and part of me wants to stop ebay right now because its so unfair and I am tired of getting yelled at by customers. Im waking up at 4 am to work 12 plus hour days to keep up with business right now which for me has been like xmas. Over 16 years Ive seen customers just become so rude and nasty and so so demanding. It sucks and ebay seems to be doing NOTHING to help us.

I think every seller should extend their handling time whenever  they list an item for sale . It might provide some protection  until this health crisis is over and everything gets back to normal . The slow delivery  has also caused me a few headaches as well . Buyers need to understand that once an item is shipped   it's no longer  under the sellers control . Tulips

Agreed. I just had a case opened against me last night for a late book. It’s frustrating that buyers can’t understand the current state of shipping and give the sellers some grace.

I’ve had and still have some books that I bought recently that came weeks late and one that is still out there late yet I see no reason to badger the seller over this. It just can’t be helped and thus must be endured. Preferably without receiving defects on our accounts when we have done nothing wrong.

I understand why the buyers are getting impatient.        Open the churches,   Open the eating establishments,  The USA is open for business.     It must be true.

It's appalling how causal our society is about 100,000 deaths from this plague.     100,000 American tragedies.     100,000 families changed forever.    All in the space of a few weeks.

Let's all open the bars and go to the beach.

Why should this virus thing killing an uncounted number of human beings slow down the movement of mail?

It's June 22 and this is still going on. Usps 4th Class media mail taking 2-4 weeks to be delivered. Buyers filing item not received and chargeback claims. The usps tracking not updating or changing so your top rated seller tracking times are deficient. Man, these are problems are everyday with no solutions except to lose money, your mind and your top rated seller status. 2020 is just one of those years that covid-19 is sure to wreck. You may as well calm down, go take a walk in the woods and come back and drink a beer. Keep your blood pressure down, clear your mind. You can't fix this train wreck stuff!

I think the frustrating thing is that some areas are having zero issues with shipping/receiving mail at all (I have not had a single problem with things I ordered online not arriving on time throughout this entire thing; in fact, I've received three international packages in the past two months and all of them cleared ISC NY within a single day and were delivered to me the very next day) whereas others seem to be what could politely be termed a complete cluster*bleep*.  I have my store closed for the time being because while I'm not worried about stuff moving quickly on my end once I ship it, I have NO idea if it's going to end up going into the mail version of the Bermuda Triangle for a while.

It's very frustrating. I'm sitting on an entire pile of crane game prizes that friends paid me to win but that I don't want to risk shipping out just yet.
