Markdown Manager

Hi there. 🙂  I was wondering, do I have to have an Ebay store to have markdown manager where I can take off a percentage off my items, and have it shown that I am discounting items?  I used to have a store, and I could apply a discount where it shows 15-20% off, etc., and it showed it to potential buyers,  but I don't have a store right now, and when I "revise" an item to make it lower in price and there are "watchers", I don't know if they see that and get a notification that the price is lowered?   I am reducing prices here and there, but when people "watch" the item, I don't know if they see the discount and get notification if I just modify the item at a lower price without having a store (not using markdown manager??   I am thinking of getting a basic store.  I have about 100 items, but will go up to about 200 soon.   What do you think?  It's only $4.95 I think to have a basic store?

Thanks!

Dawn

I have always had a store, so I don't know if you can use markdown manager without a store. However, this is a link to Create a sale event. If it brigs up the form and you can fill it out, then obviously you can use it.

www.ebay.com/sh/mkt/promotionmanager/offertypes?promoType=SALE_EVENT

When you lower the price the "watcher" will receive the notification only if they, in their communication preferences, selected that option. Many buyers have no idea that they need to review their communication options, and I don't know if such an option is on by default.

If you do have watchers, you can send them offers thru this link:

www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active?action=sort&editMode=false&sort=-price&pill_status=sioEligible
