How can we all get the folks at corporate to stop the "Skipped Price" train from running off the tracks? Markdown Manager is now a disaster for us sellers who love giving our buyers a sale. Was it broken? Is "Skipped Price" the fix?

Phew I thought I might have been the only one. Spent 2 hours last night getting sales going only to find out there are no items in the sales this morning. Yay fun

Same.
This is really killing me because my sales are what my customers mainly buy from

i'm having the same problem i called ebay they admitted to a another glitch This is to confirm that we are currently experiencing a system glitch in using the marketing promotion. Will be sending your account information to be added on the report. no sales for 3 days and now another glitch with seller status no tracking upload on all sold items.

In a post yesterday, Tyler@ebay responded: "Hi everyone - happy to clarify here. In order to have items discounted, your items must have been listed for 14 calendar days at the same price. In addition, the item must have not been included in another Sale event or markdown promotion within the past 14 days."
It is not a glitch, it is the new policy. Sad.

Thank you for that helpful information. Was losing my mind trying to figure out what was going on. This is a VERY dumb policy and I don't see the benefit to the customer at all. How do we go about getting eBay to change course on this?

Some sellers were running deceiving sales. Which are also illegal.
It was unfair to other sellers and a turn off to buyers.
If you are angry at anyone it should be those sellers who were tring to game the system.

So some sellers who abused the Markdowns and now ALL sellers are being punished. Ebay did not want to spend the money going after the abusers. This was also the reason why we paying fees on shipping.
I feel like a little kid again. Growing up with 5 brothers. One of them stole my mothers stash of cookies and the culprit would not come forward, so all of us had to go to bed without dinner. HA

Yup you can huff and puff on multiple threads blaming dumb buyers and stupid ebay for this.
And for lurkers I will respond with the real reason why this was implemented.

Same here,
Why would ebay do this? Retailers buy in bulk and mark up their products in order to set up "sales" as often as they want. Why limit sellers' ability to manage their marketing? As long as customers buy and are satified with price and quality of the product who cares how often a sale is renewed? Makes no sense.

It's more than sad for people who's selling strategy depends upon being able to promote items. Unlike eBay wanting you to pay extra for better search positioning, this remains the same because it would cost eBay. eBay keeps fixing what "ain't" broke and we keep suffering for it. I'm told by eBay that the good reason for this is some people raise the price to put it on markdown and that buyers are too stupid to see this trick so let's reduce everyone's ability to market. Remember though, eBay is always right and we don't know what will produce business. I've been at this full time for 20 years and each year my eBay business shrinks. I used to do over $half-million in sales and this year will sink below $100K. I will need to shift more of my product to other venues since promotions and markdowns are a big part of my selling strategy. If you have ideas - I'd appreciate hearing them.
