Markdown Manager not allowing me to edit dates.

So, I find out today when I try to create a markdown using an existing inactive sale that suddenly I cannot adjust the dates, which then doesn't allow me to create an updated markdown.  I really do not want to use the Promotions Manager when I just want to markdown an item.  I can't even take $2.00 off an item because the minimum is $5.00.  (Wanted to mark an item down from $11.99 to $9.99, which ends up being a really strange percentage and a huge hassle.)

Anybody else having this issue?  Anybody have an answer?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for acknowledging my frustration and for your help. You are right, and I will let go of this frustration and work on staying positive and focused. I think I just needed someone to tell me that while also being able to understand my frustration. Seriously, thanks.

Ebay opened a bug report for me in regards to this. Everybody meeds to call in and flood the lines about this so they can ad num instances to the conplaint, as only the squeaky wheels will get the grease. We need to cause a call queue. Explain you want your tenant account added to the bug report.

If they try to ask tou to use the new sales manager as a workaround, explain why it doesn"t work for your business model due to lack of features & functionality and using it would require making a laundry list of new cases for design change & feature requests which would go to a black hole for consideration.

@rgretro Asking eBay CS to open a bug report isn't going to do anything but waste your time. They discontinued the old markdown tool.

You would be better off going to the Promotions Manager page and using the Comments link to submit constructive feedback on what features the new tool is lacking and how those features are important to your business.

Markdown Manager not allowing me to edit dates.

Submitting Design Change & Functionality Feature requests to a black hole for consideration for future product builds and service upgrades is not going to resolve my issue today of my current promotions being unable to be reactivated and my sales coming to a screeching halt as a result. Nothing is going to be changed overnight and this goes back to the original issue that new tools should not be forced upon us until they have all the functionality of the old tools. Until that happens, the old tool should still be available for advanced users.

I spoke to 2 agents in 2 different callcenters and neither heard any communication about this issue and their entire team and supervisors were 'baffled'. Hence, why they opened a problem bug report. I have since been called back and advised they are adding tenant accounts to the bug report as people call to escalate the issue.

I worked as a manager in high level upper tier technical support for 15 years and have seen some of the biggest companies out there make changes without communicating to customers or the support channels. They take a 'wait and see what happens' approach. Only if the call volume and queues become inundated with requests will they take reactive measures. Otherwise, they just wait it out and then later tell support 'Oh yeah, we changed that without telling you and the bug is being closed.' Then they finally proceed to blast out a tip to support channels after the fact and ask for no more bugs to be reported on the issue.

Therefore, if you do not call inbound to get the issue escalated for visibility, it will not be an issue that warrants addressing in their eyes. The directive probably came from people in a very high level that only see the forest from a zoomed out view and do not really understand what is going on at the ground floor level - They have to understand it is an issue and if you do not report it, then it is not a problem.

This just completely reeks of poor business practices and bad communication all around to not only the sellers but also the employees!

I also warned them I would raise as escalation when the Mardown Manager ceases to function and there is no viable replacement!

The Old Markdown Manager TOOL is the reason I subscribed to the store subscription in the first place.

It needs to be understood that there are unacceptable technical roadblocks with the new sales tool. It needs to stay in an 'alpha' release state and has a lot to be desired. I cannot swallow the fact that I have lost features that I used to drive my sales and have practically no sales for the last week as a result. The old tool needs to continue to be able to be used as a workaround while development continues and features are added on their new graphical rubbish tool.

I had 1 sale today, yesterday NONE!!!! Not typical for a Friday in my Store. Guess what the 1 item that sold today was - one of the items that is still under one of my last Active Sales left in the old Markdown Manager.

Lucky you. Because of the increase in some of the store subscription fees eBay is offering a window during the month of May when you can cancel your store without an early termination fee.

I was previously thinking to actually upgrade my subscription level so I could use the Markdown Manager even more intensively.

Basically this 'Answer' is what you call a 'PUNT' and 'Support Avoidance' in the Service Industry.
