So, I find out today when I try to create a markdown using an existing inactive sale that suddenly I cannot adjust the dates, which then doesn't allow me to create an updated markdown. I really do not want to use the Promotions Manager when I just want to markdown an item. I can't even take $2.00 off an item because the minimum is $5.00. (Wanted to mark an item down from $11.99 to $9.99, which ends up being a really strange percentage and a huge hassle.)
Anybody else having this issue? Anybody have an answer? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I'm not being able to edit dates either. I don't like it. It needs to be easier. This is redicoulous.

How funny is this?
Markdown Manager hasn't been working correctly for months (won't let you create new sales, etc...) but we've somehow found a way around it and can use it.
Now we're complaining that something that is already broken (and that eBay will not recognize and/or fix) is now more broken.
Actually, it's not so funny after all.

I am having the same issue. It may be that eBay has turned off the ability to update existing sales and force the use of the super easy and user-friendly Promotions (of course that is sarcasm). Worked 3/19 but not since that date.

I believe you should call eBay support helpdesk and they will [may be] solve it...

Same problem here this morning. So frustrating !!!!!

I begrudgingly took Andy’s advice and called eBay. Markdown Manager is now obsolete. We cannot amend an Inactive entry. Any existing sales will run their course and that’s it. All sales must now be performed through Promotions. I find Promotions to be clunky and not a user-friendly tool for (multiple) individual entries. Specifically, I believe that the eBay approach for the Antiques / Vintage / Collectibles market is death by 1,000 cuts. We are a square peg being pushed into a round hole, it’s not working.

Markdown Manager is no longer an active tool. It was announced long ago that there would be a transition period but then all users would be required to use Promotions Manager for this type of discount.
For a flat discount $5 is the minimum. If you want to mark down from $11.99 to $9.99 pick the closest percent. 17% is a $2.03 discount. It's not the end of the world.

Just because you bought a new hammer doesn't mean that you should throw your screwdriver in the garbage.
They bought a new hammer and got rid of the old hammer, not the old screwdriver. eBay isn't going to support two markdown systems because that would be a huge waste of resources.
Work with the current system the best you can. If the system isn't meeting your needs then call CS with your feedback. Sorry buddy, that's about all you can do.

I know that's all I can do... and that's why I'm frustrated.
Also, some hammers work better for certain applications than others. So if you're gonna throw an old one out, you should make sure that the new one can do everything the old one was capable of doing.

You're missing the point that it's not an error in the system preventing you from having the same functionality as the old tool. The new tool was intentionally designed this way. It was a business decision made by eBay to have the new tool operate with different features and the new tool is working the way they intended it to.
Do you ever get those sourcing recommendation e-mails from eBay saying list these brands at 40-50-60% off retail?
They don't want sellers to mark down $2. Bigger discounts drive more sales. The $5 limitation was intentional. They did not completely remove the ability for you to accomplish your goal. Mark down 17% and you have the same result even though you're getting there with a different process.

I feel the same frustration but I also recognize those limitations were intentional. eBay isn't going to fix it because it isn't broken. If I sat around complaining about what features the tool was lacking instead of learning how to accomplish my same goals with the features that are available I'd lose focus and my sales would suffer for it. Just trying to help you out, buddy. I hope you can find a way to make things work.
