Making an offer to auction watchers

I have a bag listed with 19 watchers. I decided to follow the eBay suggestion and offer the watchers a reduced price. When I filled out the form, I had an error message that told me there were no eligible buyers. I tried a second time and the same message appeared. However, it looks like 9 of the 19 did receive the offer. What could have been wrong with the other 10 watchers?

Thanks

Buyers can choose NOT to receive offers.

In their account settings, they chose not to receive offers from sellers.

Or they may be in one of your excluded locations.

Just curious...why do you not ship to PO Boxes since you use usps?

I wasn't aware that I didn't mail to PO boxes. I'll have to check into that.
Thanks

I was so confused when you said you sent a Best Offer on an auction. I would call it a Fixed Price listing.  It’s not an auction.

We really need to come up with a better name for these listings. Something short and snappy.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that and didn't know you could refuse to receive offers. I'm not really sure why someone who is actually interested in an item would refuse to see an offer to pay less.

If you have a large number of items on your watch list you might not want to get overloaded with offers.

Personally I have plenty of Items on my watch list, very few of them are items that I am actively considering buying. Some are things (printer toner) that I will want when I need it but until then no matter how good the offer is it's of no interest. Other things on my watch list are just there because of a peripheral interest, again no offer will prompt me to buy.

On a couple of my id's I am set to receive all types of offers and promotions and I get quite a lot of messages almost every day, on other id's I have all these things turned off so I don't get any more overloaded. I already get between more than 20 marketing messages from eBay every day, I don't need or want 100 or more.
