Make An Offer option is borken - another disaster for the "new" Message System

Fellow Sellers- My of my best customers just asked to make an offer on my of my Buy It Now items as he messaged me from the item per normal way of doing things.  I said sure, then tried to make the Offer back to him. There is an "Offer option" but you can only put in an amount....then there is no way to send the offer.  It is just broken, does not work, I tried for 20 minutes, I looked at a previous message here in the boards that also said there seems to be no way to do it.  I am using the full desktop version, maybe the mobile app version works as I understand the new horrifyingly awful message format is not on the mobile app version, but I can't use that for the mobile app due to the volume of photos etc.  so I need the desktop version.

I tend to receive and accept and (try to) send at least a few offers per week, so this is important.

Anyone have an actual solution or workaround for this?

Without actually looking at the message offer option and instead giving you an immediate option based on the fact you have a store subscription, my suggestion is to create a custom private coupon for that buyer.

I appreciate the suggestion of a coupon offer, I try to stay away from those and don't like them, if this is the only workaround option then eBay is just asking for fewer sales, just utter nonsense to break a transactional format that was working perfectly for years.

Can you post a screencap of exactly what it is you're seeing? I was able to send an offer to a buyer just fine earlier this afternoon via messages. I too was using a desktop rather than the app.

OK I ran a test for you.

Correct you have to enter an offer amount. If you want to do a % off, just do the math. (FYI, when eBay sends email to buyer, it will display as a % off based on your dollar amount.)

As for "then there is no way to send the offer" - what does that mean? Do you not see the blue button at the bottom? If that's what you're trying to say, you may need to Zoom Out your browser's view.

If that's not what you're trying to say, you'll need to be more specific about the error.

Hi devon@ebay - see above screenshots for errors. This is using "send offer" through the new message system aka private offers or reply with offer.

- confirmation window on seller's side says 2 days

- email on buyer's side says 65 hours

- actual offer screen on buyer's side says 96 hours

Also: make sure you're using the "send offer" button within eBay messages - do not use the "reply with offer" button on the copy that's CCed to your email. The latter links to the old format and it may no longer work. The former leads to the new process shown in my screenshots above.

Hi to Wastingtime101 and thank you for the work you did for this.  The problem for me is....there is no blue button to push.   The screen pops up to Make an Offer with a dollar amount, and that's it.  The message part is there, but no button below beside above, I tried to scroll thinking it was hidden....it's just nothing, no box, no link, no way to continue. thus no way to sent the offer, I tried many times, I had my customer re-send a message, as someone in another board post said it has to be the first message from a buyer.  I think a lot of sellers are not getting the Blue Buttons to continue, it's just broken.

As I said above:

Do you not see the blue button at the bottom? If that's what you're trying to say, you may need to Zoom Out your browser's view.

Hit Ctrl and - until the page view zooms out and the button appears.
