I sold a poster and sent it in a mailing tube USPS. It never did get scanned along it's journey. I even went to the local post office to inquire and they said that sometimes the scanners can not read the label on the tubes due to the curvature. Alas, Ebay of course shows the item as never having been shipped, although the buyer is thrilled by the poster as well as my efforts to keep her informed. Is there any good solution for this conundrum? I only ask because I have a few more posters to sell.

I would suggest in the future to stand at the PO and have the tube scanned and get a receipt.
At least you would have an acceptance scan.

Suggestion: Order the free Priority "tube" boxes. They're triangular and come in two sizes. They don't add much weight and will accommodate your normal poster tube. Adds a layer of protection and a nice flat surface for your shipping label.

Did you place the label incorrectly on the tube?
For the future, when you use a cylindrical tube, you have to place the label around the tube, not lengthwise, so the scan can be read completely

I did not. It was the first tube I have ever mailed. I shall take your sage advice to heart on the next mailing tube.
