MC011 -- Selling privileges have been temporarily restricted.

I started selling furniture on eBay 2 months ago

Shipped all my orders via FedEx and upload tracking number on time

I am getting more orders everyday and eBay increased my selling limits last week

Just when I thought I was doing ok on eBay then out of blue they restricted my account and removed all my listings. All my selling records are gone!!   If eBay wants to restrict my account temporarily, they can just change my inventory to 0 and keep listings live, I won't be able to revise listings anyway,  how can they end my listings and remove my selling records? We worked really hard to earn those records and now it's all gone.

In the email told me to upload tracking numbers and address any outstanding concerns from buyers who have opened cases against you through eBay or PayPal.  -----all done

I was wondering could it be FedEx delivery delay of some parcels due to covid-19 impact.

but I did everything i could on my end, shipping items on time and upload tracking number on time

Once these requirements have been met, please reply to this email and we'll begin the appeal process.

I tried to reply the email but it was a "no reply" email.   You must be kidding me.

MC011 -- Selling privileges have been temporarily restricted.

That is EXACTLY the reason.  The location stated in your listing MUST match the location in which the item is shipping from.  No exceptions.

Typically the email will at least tell you what policy you have breached, but I see yours does not.  Which is both unfair and leaves a member not knowing what the heck they did wrong.  Hard to fix something when you don't know what the problem is.  I have no idea why Ebay does this, but they do and will likely continue to do so.  It serves no useful purpose and certainly causes harm.

This is going to be a difficult one for you to work out of.  Not only do they not tell you how long this "temporary" restriction is, which is yet again wrong.  It is extremely difficult to get to the right person that is actually able to help you in Ebay.

So gather the information that they do tell you to collect in the email.  And get that submitted to Ebay.  That is a start.  I will tag this posting and see what the most efficient way for you is to resolve this issue.

There have been a couple recent threads on this very subject.  One seller finally got things worked out with Ebay and are back to work.  The other one is still waiting.  This is not going to be a quick process for you unfortunately.

So as you start this process, when you do get to actually talk with someone, make sure you ask them to define "temporary restriction" for you.  What does that mean?  How long is "temporary"?

You email told you more than you shared above.  Post the body of the email, feel free to black out any personal information that shouldn't be public, but we need to see the body of the email to zero in what your actual problem is.

In the meantime I do have a question.  It appears you are a drop shipper.  Nothing wrong with that as long as you do it within the rules of Ebay.  I was a successful drop shipper for many years and I only recently stopped.  So my question is, is the location in your listings your location or the location of where the products will be shipping from?  That is a HUGELY important question, so let me know and then I'll explain further.

Thanks for your reply.

We are furniture wholesaler, also sell on wf, hd,lowes etc. We have 2 warehouses and both in CA, one in Fontana,  another in Walnut, could it be the reason that caused restriction?

Hello cye_way,

A review of your eBay account has raised some concern that your use of services may not meet the guidelines in eBay's User Agreement. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account:
- Selling privileges have been temporarily restricted. You won't be able to list new items or revise current listings. You're also not allowed to register a new account.
- Some or all of your listings may have been removed. Any removed items will be listed further down in this email.
- All fees paid or payable for listings that are ended and/or hidden from search will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.

To appeal this restriction, you'll need to:
- Provide proof of delivery for all of the items sold on your eBay account.
-- The easiest way to do this is to submit tracking numbers for each of the items posted. This will help show buyers more of your selling history and will also allow us to confirm that your items have been posted. To upload tracking, please visit the adding tracking information page: http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/upload-tracking.html
-- You can also verify delivery by providing the feedback you have received from buyers.
- Address any outstanding concerns from buyers who have opened cases against you through eBay or PayPal.

eBay
-- Visit the eBay Resolution Center: http://resolutioncenter.ebay.com
-- You may need to sign into your eBay account before proceeding. In the Resolution Center you will find information on resolving problems with your buyer.

PayPal
-- To resolve your PayPal dispute or case, log into your PayPal account and click Resolution Center at the top of the page.
-- You can view the status of any open dispute or claim from here.
Activity on your account didn’t follow our policy. More specific details are provided below.

Once these requirements have been met, please reply to this email and we'll begin the appeal process. Also, please be aware that we may ask you to provide additional information to appeal this restriction.

Here are the listings we removed:

Do you have some complaints from buyers for non delivery or items not as described?   I ask because the message from eBay is asking you to submit proof of delivery.

I have to admit to being a bit surprised that eBay would include Feedback as evidence of delivery, since they don't accept it in an Item Not Received case.

@city*satins

Just going from what happened with the other sellers I've seen on the threads with the same issue, it is solely because their listings breached the listing rules regarding the location zip code of the item.  Ebay is really cracking down on this the last few months.  And they are pretty unforgiving about it too.

It is likely that Ebay saw the actual zip code for the item that shipped did not match the zip code on the listing.  That is how the other sellers I was trying to help got caught up in this problem.

I buy a lot from drop shippers.  Most state 'multiple locations' where they ship from.  Is that against the 'rules' here?

No, I'm sure that they specify that sellers who ship from multiple locations are exempt from specifying a zip code in the listing. I'll see if I can find where I read that.

thank you so much for helping out 🙂

Lesson learnt

recently I got 2 item not received case on eBay

----FedEx tracking status stuck at "LABEL CREATED" but other parcels shipped on the same day all delivered successfully, refunded buyer, item lost

----item shipped on 8/05,  buyer open case on 8/18 and got refund,  parcel delivered on 8/22, item gone, money refund

I got one positive feedback from a buyer who placed order on 17th, he received item and commented it's perfect. I think eBay should check this feedback 🙂

I chatted with an eBay agent online yesterday he told me he will escalate the case but I see nothing updated so far, no new emails from eBay.   I did everything eBay requested but the problem is I can't reply the email as it's "no reply"

So what else can I do?

@pjcdn2005

Multiple locations is no longer allowed.  They changed that a while back.  You may see some sellers that they just haven't caught up to yet but they are more actively looking for them the last few months.

You need to try and get some help.  Here are your options.

https://www.ebayinc.com/company/contact-us/

https://www.ebay.com/help/home

Drop to the bottom of the page and the email option is there.  Or you can click on the reason for needing assistance and the options for contact will display.  For some of them that could be the ability to call, leave a message for a call back, email or live chat.

https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp

The seller’s help center give you the ability for file for certain types of assistance.

https://twitter.com/askebay?lang=en

https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/

It's important to be aware of where you post a question on Ebay’s Facebook page.  A comment on one of Ebay’s marketing posts won't be answered, but comments posted directly on Ebay’s page will.

That's too bad...my hubs and I have been 'locked' down for 180 days.  We buy all of our food etc on-line.  If eBay is going to restrict dropshippers then we will be buying from catalogs.  And there are also grocery stores that ship.

I consider this a bit of cutting off your nose to spite your face.
