There were a number of my auctions ending last night that showed many watchers. It was my regular customers that won the items - most use auction sniping facilities, or automatic bids - I expected a much greater return. One bidder even indicated that he was still interested in bidding on an item, even though I'd contacted him to tell him I'd made a specifics mistake with the listing. I heard that bidders were having problems placing real time bids at the last moment, during the technical issues experience - is this something other users noticed?

Your items probably did sell. Ebay experienced a glitch that caused auction items that had bids to be placed in the seller's unsold section yesterday (2/28). They should be corrected shortly.
My sold auction listings have just been corrected about an hour ago (3/01).
It's a bummer that some bidder's were unable to place their bids at the last minute...that is the risk snipers take when waiting until the last few seconds...you never know what kind of glitch can happen, or that your modem decides to wig out on you.

Can understand that modems, wifi, etc., fails - ditto when bidders are not fast enough to bid 'manually' in the few seconds left. However, also read that other bidders (not mine) were trying to bid on items and the eBay bidding system was going through a churn, or slow to react., possibly as a result of the (and I quote from the Twitter feed from eBay last night),"system is just delayed and trying to catch up with a back log (sic)". I just found it extraordinarily odd that items that were expected to go much higher (and with more bidders, did not.

One of my bidders has now told me he struggled to bid at the last moment, with a delayed submission and that he was then informed by the system that he had not won the item, when in actual fact he was the sucessful winner. This win was later confirmed that evening.

Tell your late bidder that is his problem and next time bid sooner or use a sniping program.

I remember a similar event happening a few years ago. We were plagued with one glitch after another...cascading glitches. I just hope that we are not in for another round like that. It really was not any fun.
I also heard that it was an indexing problem resulting from the shorter month. it seemed to mess with both sold listings and GTC listings being renewed.

ths was happening for a few days last week also................its not a new problem

He didn't bid late - he like others was watching the churn &then was initially informed that he had lost the bid.

If you open the item that sold, by clicking on "bids" and then on the right look at "actions", you'll see that one of the actions is to send an invoice. After you send the invoice the item will move to your "awaiting payments" folder. HTH

Same thing happened to me - all of my auctions disappeared before the ending time, and Buyers were unable to bid - I took a beating and now am obligated to sell all of these items for less than market value - it's going to be a bloodbath....

I had over 120 auctions that ended last night, and I had one buyer say he couldn't place bids on some of my items so I assume there were a lot more that couldn't.
