Looking for help to ID this Roman/Greek Sculpture

Looking for some info on this unsigned warrior/soldier sculpture.  Looks to me like either Mars or Ares.  Any other suggestions?  Also - I think this is a spelter casting and wondering if this is correct.  Thanks!

i don't know who else it might be, but if it's the god of war, then it's most likely roman (mars) as opposed to ares--because there is no spear (one of the key ares symbols).  also, the helmet crest is more roman-like...yet, it sits higher on the head/face than normal roman helmets, so that may mean it's an early roman--which would have used greek artisans (possibly combining the styles).  but, i'm not an expert--i collect some artifacts and coins, and i thought the lack of a key symbol might help you.  it also might then mean it's not either vers of that god, but maybe a more mortal hero?

He is holding a bugle in his right hand and a spear in his left.  Here's a photo:SOLDIER SEATED (6a).JPG

@eastmeetswest - thank you for the additional pic!  hmmm...boots rather than sandals.  i am now definitely thinking roman over greek.

and what's with the bugle???  i thought the original was ancient.  obviously, this is a modern sculpture.  therefore, the artist has already taken some liberties with it--which means it may be difficult to figure out any absolutes without background knowledge.

Agree - the bugle does look very modern ... and did you notice the drum (lower left, front view).  Here's yet another view - I'm trying to figure out what the unusual looking round gear-like object is behind the drum.
