Hello all -
I offer local pick up in my listings. A person that I know bought several items from me and paid via paypal. I have delivered the items to him. He left feedback. Now how does the system know that the transaction is complete? One of the items I delivered to him January 4th and his funds are still pending.
Is there a way to "complete" the transaction in my Ebay account?

You go to the listing page and mark it as shipped. But it is not a good idea to accept PayPal for local pick up sales. If he claims he did not get them, how are you going to prove it? Always accept cash only for local pick ups.

"Also, if he pays cash how will Ebay know the sale is done? My sales are Paypal only."
All you would have to do is 'mark it paid'. It may be in the same drop down menu as the 'mark it shipped'.

You really should only accept cash or a postal money order for local pickup items. When you accept PayPal for such items, you are taking a risk. If the buyer is not an honest person, all they have to do is say they never got the item. They could get their money back out of your account and still have the item.
Here is what i would do:
A.) Sell item and get cash
B.) Mark item as paid on eBay
C.) Mark item as shipped
OR if you really want to get fancy, mail the buyer a cheap parcel with tracking for about $3, and upload that tracking number to eBay.

I do not offer local pickup but an item I sold was bought from a person in the next town close to me, so I decided to deliver it to her to save her the shipping fee. Not knowing what to do to show the transaction was completed, I marked the item as shipped. Then I noticed on my dashboard that my percentage came down because I did not show tracking information on that sale.

I know it may be a rare situation when something like this comes up, but what you could do in the future would be to send your buyer a cheap parcel with tracking - perhaps even just a thank you note, and upload that tracking number to eBay. That way it would help your tracking percentage instead of hurt it.
