All I'm going to say .. 1 return out of 300 sold in 300 months , 2 out of 1200 plus sales this year , any recent issue has been with new account or very low feedback. 99.9% of the transactions go flawless. I bust my tail and make sure I do a1 work.

The OP purchased the return label, not eBay.

I didn't purchase it personally , I used the one ebay provided on the return details. I didn't have a carrier choice or insurance / signature options in.

There has never been insurance on return service labels. If i have a return on a valuable item, I provide my own label with it fully insured. eBay is not going to help you out even if they do pick up the phone.

There's no disclaimer stating this. I clicked it assuming the original label details would be used or I'd have options

Please don't get me wrong, I'm actually on your side. You did nothing wrong in this case to deserve the outcome. You're obviously a good seller based on your FB. You have experience and know what you are doing.
All that said, you will only do YOURSELF harm by affecting your selling account because you are breaking policies when you leave those FB. The only reason you haven't been caught is because those buyers haven't noticed it and reported you. Once they happen to see your comments you will be busted. It makes you feel better but it can easily turn against you, and only you will lose in the end. Not worth it for a quick fix....

I've already worked everything out with 2 out 3 , one flat out refused. He bought a damaged item for half what it was worth (in good condition) , exactly as described/pictured and left feeback for the exact damage described , likely didn't see it. I even offered a refund and he didn't respond just kept leaving negative and rude comments to me.

Totally get that. The buyer was rude and said uncalled for things to you. You still cannot leave negative remarks under a positive rating. It's not about you as a seller or not working things out, this is about the remarks you are leaving.
Look do what you want to do, it's obvious having that last word means more to you. My only intention was to be helpful to you by pointing out that you are breaking policy here. You do you, do what you feel you need to do. Best of luck to you....
