I have been selling consistently for months - I have been using the same categories to sell in so this is not a case of listing in a new category
EBAY has said my item is 'indexing' and can take up to 36 hours to be searchable (UNACCEPTABLE) but putting that aside, my real issue is why the item is not showing up on my public seller profile when someone goes to the link that says see sellers other items?
This is problematic for people that want to see if I have any similar items to one they may have searched or purchased from me previously.
Any ideas??? Thank you.

Indexing is not exclusive to search, it includes your seller profile... same "issue" applies
The only way to publicly view your listing, while it is indexing, is to have the direct URL Link to your listing. It is not visible on your profile or in search until such time that it has fully indexed.
When i create "private" listings for certain buyers (custom listing for them) i send them a URL Link the moment I list it b/c I know it takes 5-10 mins to index for me, so they can get it immediately via link bypassing the wait for indexing.

Hi @mari-lou
I have not heard of indexing taking that long. Here is the excerpt from eBay’s User Agreement pertaining to indexing. It states—
“Your listing may not be immediately searchable by keyword or category for several hours (or up to 24 hours in some circumstances). eBay can't guarantee exact listing duration…”

It is up to 24 hours and while you may feel it is "unacceptable", you agreed to it when you signed up for Ebay as you had to accept the User Agreement. Did you read it before accepting it? Most don't, but it is an important document and you should read through it sometime.
