Hi there. I inherited a set of 6 Currier and Ives chop plates, "snowy morning," A56. I posted 1 on Ebay, and received a query asking if I would sell all 6 as a set, and how much I would ask for that set. Any ideas on how to proceed? I listed the first plate for a starting bid of $40 based on a rough review of what similar plates were going for. I have not yet received any bids on it.

You must be very careful so that your correspondence with this would-be buyer does not set off the eBay "bots" that look for hints about off-ebay transactions.
The best strategy would be for you to revise the current listing so that it offers the lot of all 6 plates rather than just one plate, with the price and shipping cost adjusted accordingly.
That will be. avery large, heavy pckage so be careful when you set up the shipping cost; be sure to enter accurate package weight and dimensions.

What others are listing for is not always a good indicator. What they "SOLD" for is better.
I only found 1 sold in the past 3 months for $12.00. You're optimistic (nothing wrong with that
)
As partial* said, a set of 6 chop plates is going to be large and heavy. I'm thinking 17x17x10 - which if shipping Priority is going to incur dimensional weight charges for Zones 5-8 so those weights and dimension are important to calculate the right costs to the buyer.

The description for the item that sold for $12 described some condition issues that sounded serious to me (though I'm no expert in that category).
I cannot think of a way to safely pack a stack of 6 large plates in a 10 inch box.
