Has anyone figured out what eBay's shady process is of picking and choosing which of your listings to push? It's obvious that certain items end up being pushed more than others. I've had items that go for 30 days with interest and no purchase and then when it's relisted it sits and sits with no views while other things are getting views and watchers. If there was interest in one 30 day period there should be interest again with the item is reposted. I have seen others who think eBay also pushes your items towards certain areas of the country which I think is true as well.

No, I have not figured out what ebay's shady process is.
It's not obvious to me that certain items are being "pushed" more than others,
unless they are promoted.

By pushed, I assume you mean they are in the top 20% of impressions.
Clearly, what the actual search the buyer does has some impact.
The number of listings which the search yields will also have some impact.
Everything else is speculation, usually from sellers who have items which are not selling.
Often they fail to note that when their items have significant numbers of visits, and the Ebay buyers could not be persuaded by their listings to make a purchase.
If you are getting significant visits, your product or your listing is the major reason for a sales deficit.

Conspiracy theories abound relative to Ebay's purportedly all knowing algorithm that we mere mortals know nothing about. So put on your favorite tinfoil hat and chose one of the many explanations provided in this forum by countless sellers.

People will tell you that things don't disappear from the search, but they actually are hidden from the results.
Even Griff said a while ago that the search will not show you ALL of the matching results because eBay doesn't think you need to see all of them (paraphrased).
Here's a video that explains the eBay search algorithm and how it ranks search results, determining what shows up and what doesn't.

I can understand a person getting "significant visits" and no sales. My point is......if an item is getting these visits there obviously is some sort of interest, even if no buyers. Then to relist the item (even as a "sell similar") and the same item gets no interest....what is the reason for that?
