Lesson Learned on Tracking Numbers

Sold an item on my site, buyer purchased 2 other items on my daughter's site.   Combine items to ship priority mail.  Mailed same day, arrived in plenty of time, buyer left wonderful feedback on both our sites.  I get dinged for not uploading tracking on time.  When I tried to put in the tracking number we used on my daughter's site on to my site, it would not accept it because it was already used.  Stupid me.  I should of printed on my site first, not hers.   Just makes me mad when you do everything right to sell a good product to a great buyer,  mail it he same day, ship it fast, good feedback.  And eBay marks me down.  Sigh.  Just posting so other's don't make the same stupid mistake.

You actually should not have even considered shipping them together in the first place.  If your buyer had noticed and knew the rules on Ebay, they would have known they could file an INR and win because you couldn't prove delivery.  Same with PayPal, you don't have any Seller Protection at all on this transaction with Paypal.

Just not a good idea for all kinds of reasons.

Live and learn  I guess . At least e bay sellers can bundle  by  connecting a tracking number . There are some  selling venues who don't promote bundling . You can do it,  but you take a chance . I had to  learn this lesson the hard way . A buyer had purchased two items from me  one such  site  .  I made a  mistake and put both items in the same package ,, but I could only give  one a tracking number . The buyer gave me a ''Great'' rating on the item with the tracking number  which proved delivery  but lied to the selling site by saying  she didn't receive the other one. She was refunded  for it and I was never paid .  😞   Tulips

Lesson Learned on Tracking Numbers

Why would you ship items sold on two different ACCOUNTS in one shipment?

Well I guess I am learning even more useful information.  But to answer the question, the two different accounts are in the same household, and the buyer I knew.   I would not have done this otherwise.  I learned so quit beating me up!  LOL.

You've never been able to combine & use the same tracking # if either the seller or buyer IDs were different.

Tbh I don't know why you thought it was a good idea to combine sales from 2 different seller IDs in the first place.

Lesson Learned on Tracking Numbers

I've had buyers buy from more than one of my Ids and I just tell them I have to ship separately but give them a small discount on the shipping on each.

Lesson Learned on Tracking Numbers

This has yet to happen to me. But, it seems that the best approach (now) would be to make two separate shippers, for which you would get two separate tracking numbers. As you said, live and learn.
