Per eBay policy, sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. Nor can they leave a warning or negative verbiage inside a positive rating. Here is the link to the Help pages, below, with more information about feedback.

It is odd that your buyer left negative feedback before he received the item. I think i might get in contact with eBay customer service to see if they will remove the neg. There might be a chance if you reach an understanding CSR. Wondering if your buyer is a competitor as well, and he is manipulating feedback, which is a policy violation.

Other than that, I see you have already left a response to the negative. For future reference, it is rarely a good plan to lash out at the buyer in the response opportunity. Calling names doesn't reassure future buyers that you are an upstanding seller. I would have left something along the lines of "Buyer hasn't received item yet. Please contact me for a solution to your concern."

I am not an expert in these situations, but I am wondering if the buyer is not setting you up for something like a partial refund from you to get the feed back changed from a negative to a positive.

On the other hand, the buyer might have you confused with another seller.

Send a polite message to the buyer. Ask if they confused you with another seller since you haven't shipped the item yet.

If they did mix up feedback you can ask them to revise the negative and send a feedback revision request, however since you left a harsh reply the buyer may not want to cooperate.

Of course eBay allows buyers to leave feedback before the item is mailed! Otherwise, how would a buyer leave feedback if the seller fails to send the item?

You said that he "did the payment late" (whatever "late" means to you,because there is no eBay-imposed definition of "late"). Did you file an unpaid item dispute against him? Some buyers do not like that.

That's strange ,, Did you and the buyer have a argument over the late payment or something ? Other than he could be a competitor I can't think of any other reason why he would want to leave negative feedback before even receiving his purchase . Tulips
