Late Shipment Rate

I just checked my seller dashboard and to my surpise it shows I have a late shipment rate of 3/70. I'm confused by this becaues I always ship before that date that Ebay tells me that I have to ship. On a few occasions, I got something out in the mail but the postal service just took a long time. Sometimes the item get's to it's destination in just a day or two. Does the late shipment rate mean anything?

Mine shows I have two, but then when you go further into the account info and run the graphs, it shows that neither of the items they marked late uploading tracking were actually late and did receive scans within the correct time. Try to see if you can run that report and if those 3 marked late are actually late.

I need to call Ebay to have it corrected, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Late Shipment Rate

this whole shipping metric is flawed.

i always ship on time and within my 1 day handling policy.

i don't babysit my packages.

when i think of it in the evening i check what shipping labels say about the packages i have dropped off that day.

most times it says "in transit".

few weeks ago 2 packages didn't get scanned until the city of destination.

hilarious but these packages are not even the culprits.

when i check my dashboard it doesn't look good.

the report summary says;

11 items that weren't shipped on time.

the "reason for counting" for every single one is;

tracking indicates late delivery.

i don't care that much about it.

i am still at 2% and my standard allows 3%.

so would take another 5 packages for me to get in trouble.

by December 3 of them will fall off.

next to "...indicates late delivery" is a column "buyer says late delivery".

NOT a single buyer has said that.

i also have always uploaded tracking and shipped on time (that is all i can do).

except for the 2 i mentioned above, i have not noticed any late USPS scan.

from August through October;

100% Tracking uploaded and validated on time.

but the report says 3 in October, indicates late delivery.

ran a report 5 stars all across, not even a 4  star in shipping.

never received an email from a buyer saying where is my package?

i have shipped thousands of packages in the last 12 months (all my selling venues).

not a single package lost or damage, not a single complaint.

the USPS does a pretty good job.

but ebay is trying hard to say i am a bad shipper.

since i reached 2% i even have a red exclamation marked next to my standard.

i am in jeopardy to lose my TRS+ discount.

well it would take another 1%.

this is laughable at best.

and yes i know i could call ebay.

i just have better things to do with my time.

like rant/vent about it on this board.

it is more gratifying.

i abhor calling ebay CS.

actually it is not just ebay it is all customer services;

Paypal, Comcast..........

oh well...

It says tracking indicates late delivery. I've never had a single person ever complain. I have also noticed a pattern where USPS isn't scanning the packages until they are actually delivered. I had that happen on three packages last week.

So what happens if I have over 5 late shipments?

Also, will it go back to zero eventually in time?

I have two late shipments and they are also due to "late delivery" but no one complained and I got good feedback from the buyer. I agree this is flawed.

It's especially flawed in the sense that USPS can have delays. How is that our fault?

my understanding the % is calculated based on;

last 12 months and # of transactions.

the more you sell, the more penalties you are allowed to have.

each penalty falls off after 12 months.

only way to can go back to zero is too avoid another penalty.

don't know what will happen ifyou  get over 5 late shipments?

in my situation what i am at risk of losing is my,

TRS status.

but i still would be in the "above standard" status (so i hope).

if you are at risk of losing you "above standard" status, i believe it is not good.

in your situation i would call ebay ASAP.

I would prove I have shipped on time blah blah blah.

get all your infos together prior to calling.

check tracking infos, write down dates and all.

check the date ebay says it was shipped etc.

and then plead your case with Ebay.

you might be able to have some of these late shipments removed.

hope some that knows the rules better than me come around and help you.
