I currently have 245 active BIN listings. Yesterday I closed my store and today I was prevented from making a new BIN listing. Why is that? I thought I was allowed 250 free listings without a store. eh?

Each seller who doesn't have a Store subscription gets 250 free basic insertions per month. These can be used for new listings, relists, or when a fixed price listing rolls over each month.
You listing limits are completely separate from your "free insertions" allowance. Your listing limits will limit (1) the number of listings you can have each month; and (2) the total dollar value of your listings. Signing up for a Store subscription (or canceling one) has no effect on your listing limits.
For instance if you have a listing limit of 200 listings and you already have 200 listings, and you try to set up another listing, you will not be able to, regardless of how many "free insertions" you have left for the month.

I have cancelled my store mostly due to low sales due to the economy. I am a one person store employee with over several thousand vintage near mint baseball cards and comic books. I acknowledge that I made a few errors in my inventory levels, but I am not perfect yet! I am 80 years old and may not achieve perfection before I go. All of my customers have given me positive feedbacks as far as I can see. Truthfully, I feel eBay is being a little strict on their requirements although I understand they lean toward the larger sellers. I appreciate all of the input you sellers have given me of late.
