I wish eBay created an addition filter to block buyers who claim SNAD frequently, I would even pay for that feature.

When you bring an item back to a store, you do not have to give an explanation either anymore.
Before they would ask and write it on the return slip.
When I brought an item back to Nordstrom recently and started to explain why, she actually cut me off. She said no explanation was needed and apologized to me that I was not satisfied.

Meanwhile eBay charges forwards touting free returns for ANY reason.
And this is a very good way we can compete with Big Box because we can offer more than they are. We have to learn to take advantage of what we can do better than the big boys.
Good Luck Selling!

Yes, with a verified receipt. Here eBay expects us to accept ANYTHING returned (even if it's not the item sent)
Buyers on eBay can only return within the sellers return policy time frame and eBay has recently made changes in that if the buyer does not send back exactly what is described in the listing sellers now have an option to charge a handling fee.
Maybe you missed that change?

So are you basically saying , because eBay made changes several month ago before the holiday selling season, for once eBay got ahead of the curve? It sounds like they are driving change.

Seems that somewhere around $50,000,000 a year averaged over the last 5 years could be unreasonable.

I suppose it might be nice to be able to do business that way.

eBay has recently made changes in that if the buyer does not send back exactly what is described in the listing sellers now have an option to charge a handling fee.
Please tell us what sort of "handling fee" a seller gets to charge when they get a rubber band back instead of the $1000 bracelet they sent the liar buyer? Is it by %? Just for the free return inductees? Concierge sellers? or all of us who recieve faulty returns?
Certainly the said "buyer" could simply go to their "pal" or credit card if they don't like what funds they get back.
Please explain how this new policy works and is enforced.

More like eBay is still chasing the back of the pack.

....."About 15 percent of recent returns abused the guarantee, said Mac McKeever, a spokesman for L.L. Bean. That includes items that were returned after decades of use, were damaged beyond repair or had been re-sold at stores such as Goodwill. The rate of abusive returns has doubled over the past five years, costing the company around $250 million during that time, according to McKeever. “It’s not fair to the customers who honor the original spirit of the guarantee, and it’s certainly not sustainable from a business perspective,” he said.".....
No wonder they have to downsize the business - changes - and we have to hope ebay's dishonest buyers don't make up more than the 15% . Times are a changing!

Click Here - 2017 Fall Returns
Starting Fall 2017, you will have added protection when you offer free returns. You can deduct up to 50% of the item price if the returned item is damaged or missing parts.
I think a returned rubber band would qualify as missing parts in the scenario you described.
Good Luck Selling!
