eBAY is clearly hungry and out to straight up steel from their sellers. I had 2 back to back sales this morning for the same item promoted at 7.5%. Yeah, I have to promote that high to be seen. So the thieves take out 7.5% on one transaction and 12.9% on the other. I know 12.9% is the new rate for regular fees, but they took this amount for Standard Promotional FEES. Ended up fighting with some CSR in UK who claims he is 1000 times more man then me and that I have to pay to play and there's no free meals and to hire a lawyer.

EBAY CREDITED BACK BOTH FEES BECAUSE THEY WERE 110% IN THE WRONG. THAT IS THE ACCEPTED SOLUTION

You run promoted listings at 7.5% so what is the problem here??
They took out the normal fees and then they took the Promoted fees which is how they do it.
You end up paying extra if you want to TRY and be in the top searches..... waste of money.
You don't get one or the other.

Also be advised that using that trademarked VELCRO name is a VERO waiting to happen
Might want to use "hook and loop" or another term

They took 7.5% on 1 sale and then they took 12.9% on the same item when it was still promoted at 7.5%.

Yes, promoted fees are in addition to the standard FVFs.
And make no mistake - it is a Pay to Play.

Um, I'm advised. Been selling Velcro Brand for years.

Ok, just trying to help

If you are selling Velcro Brand, you can write "VELCRO" using the trademark.
If it is not manufactured by Velcro, then you would need to write "hook and loop".

So when I set the rate to 7.5% for promoting the listing and ebay deducts 12.9% that's pay to play?
I guess you don't even look at the pictures either.

Fair enough
Happy Sales 😁

Did you at any time ever have the "ad rate" set at 12.9%????
You may already be aware of this, but if you ever had it set to that rate, and someone viewed at that rate, the rate when viewed would be the rate charged even if the rate is different when purchased. Seems that the rule is purchase within 30 days of view holds the rate viewed at.
If never at the 12.9% ad rate, then "glitch du jour" (read as IT programming)

I see many don’t understand what you’re trying to say. You sold the same item , but they charged you different ad rate fee for the first purchase. Maybe, you put 12.9% by mistakes for short time and later changed it back to 7.5% ?

I believe others were understanding the OP
@buyselljack2016 replied with a very good answer but we probably will not hear back from the OP

That was what I meant. I didn’t see your answer when I posted.
