I just received a message that my listing for Fluticasone Propionate nasal spray was removed from eBay because it is against policy to list an item that requires a prescription. Really? There are currently 692 listings for Flonase and over 100 more for other brands of fluticasone propionate currently listed on eBay. I did talk with customer service and asked if all those listings would be removed. When I explained that this has been approved for over-the-counter sales for years and does not require a prescription, the answer I received is that possibly this substance is still prescription-only in other countries and because eBay is a world-wide marketplace, my listing was removed. Lord help me. It's like dealing with a 2 year old. Makes no sense to this girl. There are many Top Rated Plus sellers that have sold LOTS of this nasal spray over a long period of time....why are those listings still active?? Either it's a policy, or it's not. SO wishy-washy and unprofessional. On another note, eBay's policy says you cannot sell anything that has expired. ????? WHAT???? Have you looked at the expiration dates on thousands of items listed for sale?? My nasal spray expires 01 of 2020 so that was not the issue. Makes you feel like they are just picking you out of the bunch -- for what reason?

A Friend of mine had his house broken into. The cops came by and said they were not going to investigate. Why? Well, since they could not catch ALL of the burglars it just seemed unfair to punish only the ones they could catch. So they felt that they had no choice but to let them all get away with it..
Life sucks sometimes.

A competitor reported you, or perhaps an unhappy buyer.
eBay phone help is often useless because the staff is not well trained on the specifics of these things.
All you can do is go sell it on a competitor site.

Have a read over this lengthy thread from a couple of years ago.
Take note the OP there was the one reporting the listings and they were not getting taken down.
Also note that there are different versions of Fluticasone Propionate, some require prescriptions and some don't. I don't know what you were selling but it's possible it was the prescription required version or it wasn't but because of the confusion yours were taken down in error.
I only read a small part of the thread, best you look st all of it.

You were "reported" by another member (perhap's a competitor) to be in violation of policy that's why your listing was taken down. The other listings you mention either didn't violate eBay policy or were simply NOT reported. You can report listings that violate eBay polices there is a link on every listing to do so.
Good luck to ALL the small sellers out there!

Must have been the buyer because the listing that was removed was for two boxes that were sold and delivered. Just another person to add to a blocked buyer list. Guess I expect too much sometimes from customer service but I was held to a very high standard in my job. I see so many disappointing non-solutions from more and more corporations these days. I have had good experiences with eBay customer service in the past (and, some not-so-good.) Still deciding whether or not I want to renew my store for another year. About 30 days to decide.

I really dislike the idea of reporting other sellers. The product I sold was identical to Flonase and not a prescription product. My sister had given me four boxes of the fluticasone propionate and I can't use it fast enough before they expire so I put them on eBay at a good price including shipping. I actually bought my Flonase on eBay but not I am not going to do so in the future because of my listing being removed while others stay up as active listings. Seems I am buying very little these days on eBay and this just gave me another reason not to.

Just another note on the product I listed....there is no prescription required to get this generic version of Flonase. I will just steer clear of listing these type of products in the future IF I decide to stay on eBay with my store. On another note - eBay policy clearly states that expired items are not allowed. It's pretty obvious they are not taking those listings down. There are a TON of expired over-the-counter meds on eBay!

Ebay used to be extremely vigilant about expired products. It was obvious the bots were trained to look for any number or date in a listing and then poof - listing gone.
That changed seemingly overnight. It went from a seller using all kinds of wordings and workarounds - this was back in the days when a seller could actually communicate with a prospective buyer - to ebay's new oh-who-cares-whatever attitude. With no in between.
The policy can still be pulled out and dusted off when ebay wants to; it's still on the books.
