Just discovered a new problem because of the photobucket 3rd party hosting

I know this is my fault and I am not blaming eBay or photobucket for it but it might cost me my account in the future because of item out of stock defects, the way I kept track of a lot of my old inventory was by photobucket pictures, I would click on the linked picture in the body of my listing which showed me a folder of pictures of my listings and the folders were dated and showed me what items were listed together so I could go find the box they were in, now that i've had to remove those links I am in the dark on where to find a lot of those items, don't get me wrong I know where the majority of my inventory is off the top of my head and I know all my items are in my "eBay room" and the garage but some items that have been listed over a year an a half are now going to be tough to find. Any suggestions for future organization since I can't rely on photobucket any longer, am I going to have to keep every picture I take from now on and keep them in dated folder on my harddrive?

I'm not one to just not ship an out of stock item I would definately find a replacement buyer even if it cost me more but I fear there will be some I just cannot replace, hopefully I can catch them in time or I don't sell a bunch of those types of items at once and can absorb the defects until those items I am unsure of are gone.

You're going to need to sit down an entire weekend and no an inventory, item by item. Out of stock defects, as you know are deadly on Ebay. What happens if you sell an item you don't have and can't find anywhere else to send to buyer?

Many years ago when we had a massive inventory on another account, we had a notebook and stickers. Good old fashion inventory. We labeled the items and matched it on our inventory list. We had over 3500 items listed at once. Mostly rare CDs and music memorabilia..If it was in storage we would have a letter "S" and the item number.

Never had any issues at all..

Ditto what emerald said - you're going to have to bite the bullet and do a complete physical inventory (which you should do at least once a year anyway - 1. for tax purposes and b. to check their condition).

Then I suggest making a spreadsheet.

I actually keep all my listing photos in folders on a flashdrive (or 2) even the sold ones.

@rolenboy01

You have your "feo" backup files before you updated your listings through File Exchange. Those two spreadsheet files (feo_14988587379432.zip  and  feo_14988613406307.zip) can still be used to cross-correlate the images and their contained data to item numbers (until you relist with a new item number).
