Just Received Email from e-Bay CS - Looks like they are Trying to Support Sellers

We had to file an INR (filed it yesterday) after the seller stopped communicating and the item never arrived.  Ordered 3/3.....no valid tracking, etc.

Just received this e-mail about 30 min ago:

Hello XXXXX,

Thank you for contacting eBay regarding the item "XXXXXXXX" (373XXXXXXXxx). I understand that you did not receive the item that you paid for. I’m sorry to hear that transaction did not go as expected. Good thing that you asked eBay to step in and seek for assistance. My name is Mary from eBay and you have reached the right person to provide you a resolution. It is my pleasure to assist you further.

Upon thorough review on the case, it shows that there is no movement on the tracking information.

To monitor this case, I placed the case on hold for 3 days for the seller to provide proof of shipment that matches your address and the carrier that they used. I apologize if it would take a few more days to resolve the issue.  Please understand that the hold period is necessary for us to make a more sound and fair decision on the case based on the information that we are requesting from either party. In any case that the seller did not provide any valid proof until April 27, 2021 we will close the case in your favor and return your money back as part of your eBay Money Back Guarantee Protection.

I'm confident that the action I have taken will resolve the concern in the soonest time possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you choosing eBay as your business partner.

Sincerely,

Mary S.

At least they are working to give Sellers every possible opportunity to enter tracking, answer the INR, at least based on the email above.  I am not really excited about waiting longer, but this letter comes across (at least to me) that the Seller deserves more time to respond.  As a Seller, to me anyway, this is good and much better than the ones I have seen in the past with trigger close for the Buyer.

They really do need to do something, and soon, so hopefully this is the start.

eBay make more money on larger value items, for a lot less effort - and sellers being burned on HVI's are soon going to start pulling back on the the risk.

It is all very well to say only list what you can afford to lose, if it starts becoming a regular thing, no matter your business model, a seller can't afford to lose that much too often.
