I just got home from work and wondered why the red flag on my mailbox was still up and my mail hadn't been picked up.
Happy Juneteeth everyone! 😉

How did you even schedule the pickup for today?
I'm in trouble, ugh. I had two items sell on Monday so they were supposed to ship yesterday (Tuesday -I have 1 day handling). They were EASY, just vinyl envelope items; I could have done it it my sleep practically, but I actually did fall asleep watching TV in my chair ... anyway I didn't get them in the mailbox before my guy came, nor did I take them to the post office. "I'll just reschedule for tomorrow." The labels were already printed after all, and only in a few rare instances have I gotten a demerit for shipping something only 1 day late. -As long as nothing happens in transit, delivery is usually still in the estimated window.
So then last night I went to schedule the pickup for today ...... and you know how this ends.

Despite knowing it was Juneteenth, like Pavlov's dog I stopped at the post office on my way back from a job and duuuuuuhhhh...it was locked up.
Our area is having commemorations, markets and special events celebrating it, and we have a beautiful mural along one of the trails where I run. I like looking at it as I go by.

Lucky you, nobody stole your outgoing.

All of which simply confirms my opinion that despite our best attempts very little of what is posted here is actually assimilated.
I count at a minimum 11 original posts (including my own - pat pat) cautioning everyone that June 19 was a federal holiday and the post office will be closed.
If nothing else it at least explains the repetitive repetitive repetitive posts on the same same same subject.

When it all fits in my mailbox, no need to schedule, just put the flag up. If it doesn't fit in my mailbox and i have some packages on the front porch, then i schedule a pick up.

Don't feel bad. I had 1 parcel to mail. I wanted to get it to the PO on Sunday. It is almost a 1 hour round trip walk & a 'heat dome' was starting on Monday. I DID NOT want to walk anywhere this week. I go early, only to find out the PO isn't open until noon on Sunday. I thought it was 10AM. So, I had to make a 2nd trip on Monday. Aaargh! lol

At least you had a good reason as to why your parcels weren't picked up. About 2 times a week (and no holiday) they simply don't show up where I live. Gotta love USPS. 🙄
Happy Selling

I had the same problem living out in the country. I lived on a stretch of road with 3 houses. If there was no mail for any of us, driver never even checked if we had mail outgoing in our boxes.

It happens in my area also. Talked to the local postmaster and they are just simply short on people and cannot hire fast enough to fill their needs so when somebody is out sick, quits, is on vacation...... they don't have enough carriers to run the routes and juggle delivery as best as they can.
