@shipscript

I got my notice from ebay and they say I have about 16 listings that need to be modified.  I tried to use the links that are provided on here, but I'm not getting anything.  It says no changes were made.  I don't get it.  Ebay says I have things that need to be changed, but the links to see the changes say I have no changes.  Help, please!!  I have no idea how to fix these or my templates.

Here is that final step after you scan your items and open the Filtered tab on the scanner:

- Copy the Filtered code (that puts it in your computer clipboard).
- Click the Revise button to open eBay.
- Switch to the HTML view of eBay's description editor.
- Delete the code in your eBay description.
- Paste the new code (which is already in your clipboard.)

Or, you can use this order:
- Click the revise button to open eBay.
- Switch to the HTML view of eBay's description editor.
- Delete the code in your eBay description.
- Go back to the Filtered tab and copy the code.
- Paste the copied code into the HTML tab of eBay's editor.

I scanned your 53 items with this tool and found 18 that need attention:

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentScanner.htm

16 have Active content (we agree with eBay) and two have only link targets that require a repair.

If you will use the EXAMINE button on that tool to look at the affected items in the Sandbox tool, you will be able to repair those listings using the code provided in the Filtered tab of the Sandbox tool.

I looked at a few and see a Sellathon script and no-right-click-script.

Thank you so much!!  I was able to revise everything that needed to be revised.  I was pretty much lost in the beginning, but I was able to decipher what needed to be done.  Sometimes I amaze myself!  Now, can I use that same tool for my templates, too?  I have 200+ templates stored in TL.  I have one in particular that I seem to use the most for my little girl's dresses, so that one for sure will need to be revised.  Thanks again.

You can open a template in Turbo Lister, copy the HTML from TL, and paste it into the Sandbox tool.

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentSandbox.htm

The scanner will tell you if you need to revise that template and the revised code will appear on the "Filtered" tab.

I rescanned your listings and I don't see any change. Are you sure you picked up the code from the "Filtered" tab at the bottom? Be sure to checkmark "All" on that tab to remove all issues (although Active and Links are the only two issues you are seeing).

OMGosh.  You mean I did it wrong?  Figures!!  I told you I didn't know what I was doing.  And no, I don't think I did pick up the codes.  I'll have to go back and take a look again and go all thru them all over again. Geesh!!  Thanks for alerting me to that.

I did this and it didn't seem to work.  I used the examine button and went to the filtered tab and checked "all" box, (which I did not do before) checked the popup and everything seemed fine and then hit revise.  And it still looks the same as it did before.  The item line did not turn white on the chart and it still says have two items that need to be taken care of.  This is on the first one, the Minnie Mouse ears.  What could I doing wrong?

Sorry, I didn't see your reply before I posted my message.  I'll go back and try to do your solution and let you know.  I didn't know I had to do all that copy/paste thing.  I thought the sandbox would do that for me.

I wish it could too, but automatically posting across websites would have to defeat all the security measures in your browser. Smiley Surprised

Still not working.  Am I not just deleting all that code that is in the colors?  Your instructions said to paste the new code from my clipboard back into my listing again.  But it looks to me like all that needs to be removed.  Am I wrong?  Otherwise, it looks like I'm just replacing what I just deleted.  I see the pink color has a line thru it, so I'm pretty sure that's to be deleted (javascript).  But the other stuff is yellow and some orange.  Looks to me like it should all come out?  Sorry to be so dumb about this.

OK, I got it!!  And yes, I just need to delete the highlighted information.  But OMG, what a job this is going to be, and I only have 53 listings.  I can't even imagine people who have hundreds of listings to be modified.  Wow.

Thanks again, Shipscript!!

You have a couple of months to fix those listings. Just start fixing them at a comfortable pace and make sure that you don't sell-similar from a listing that has not yet been fixed.  Don't overly fret, since you can rescan at any time and pick up any that you missed.

When using sell-similar or relisting an ended item that has not yet been upgraded, you can copy the HTML from eBay's listing tool and paste it into the Sandbox tool. Then go down to the bottom of the scanner, pick up the Filtered code, and paste that back into eBay's HTML tab prior to posting that listing. That is one way to handle old content.  Or, you can let it go live and scan it as part of your next revision batch.

I would expect sellers to be a able to revise 100 listings by hand by metering out the workload.

For sellers with more listings, either eBay's bulk editor might work or the beta bulk editing tool I'll post in a few days might work.

You don't need to pick and choose which codes to delete. The colored screen is simply informational for the techies and curious who want to see what is causing the problem.  The yellow links are informational and will remain in the filtered code.

For you, just open the "Filtered" tab and copy the entire code from the Filtered tab. Use that to replace the entire code in your eBay description.

Hello Shipscript,

Thank you in advance; would you take a look at a listing of mine concerning the Active Content issue ?

This is my newest version of my html code.

Listing 112359184252

I have a seller store if that matters at all.

I'm trying to revise my listings, but calling C.S. results in different answers each time I ask about Active Content in my listings.

I would like to create a template that I could use going forward that is current with all of the new rules (I really am not sure if this means changing to CSS ??? vs HTML ?)

I at one time learned some basic html, which you will see in my listings (I have since forgotten most of what I learned) .

I have a lot of older Versions (ebay listings) that I have not had the time to update. Once the whole Active Content issue date passes - I plan to update all of my listings - old and new.

Please send a message thru the message system if you are able to help.

Thank you once again
Danny
