Item not received? Item returned.

I sold something to someone in Canada. After about a month the item was returned to me. Someone had marked RTS with a sharpie on the outside of the package. it did not seem like something a postal employee would do. There was no official stamp or label on the package saying the reason the package was being returned. The buyer contacted me through eBay telling me that she did not receive the package and tat the address it was shipped to was correct. She did not want me to reship the package because she did not want to pay the extra shipping fees. I told her that the only way to go was to tell eBay she did not receive the item and I would refund her what she paid. I don't know I did the right thing, but it is too late now. My question is: Since she told eBay she did not receive the item, will eBay think I failed to ship it and place a bad mark on my record? Does anyone have a comment about this? Would be appreciated.

Item not received? Item returned.

eBay considers Return to Sender the same as Delivered. And the seller can keep both the money and the returned item. Or refund less fees and postage.

It's too late to start an Item Not Received refund request beyond 30 days of the latest estimated delivery date, but when it was still possible before 30 days, eBay would close the case without a refund, and feedback is blocked/removed if already left.
