Item Specifics Software Decisions Strikes Once Again

Just when I thought I 'survived' the incredibly stupid decisions that went into requiring three fields of repeated data be added to my (then) 5,942 listings, I have just had two different Buyers ask me about data within my item listings.  One of those is under the subject heading of "Instrument".....which has absolutely nothing to do with my offerings of 45rpm RECORDS and/or PICTURE SLEEVES.  Upon investigation I found that their software made a decision to ADD the sub-category of 'Instrument' to my new listings (that are were using my Templates....that DID NOT HAVE that sub-category in their structure) and inserting the equally stupid data of "Record".  I wonder how many of these lovely decisions the software community decided to present me with?

Man that stinks. When I was updating my item specifics, eBay would often suggest a value for the "instrument" item specific ("recorder" was a frequent suggestion) , but it was only a suggestion and did not get added unless I proactively clicked to accept it.

When I list a record it always suggests "recorder" WTH...

Now I'm having a problem listing shoes. Ebay requires I select a department from a small list of Teen, Unisex adults and Women...that is all.

It won't even let you type in your own...I guess men don't buy shoes now.

Way to go ebay...another successful improvement!

@jimsvinylvault   I had I.S.s get deleted when they flipped the switch on for this update ... I use Templates and the Manufacturer is often one of the Required I.S.s ... but eBay deleted that on a number of listings ... lately they seem to be holding but the first go 'round was a fail.

I  discovered another one.....I wish I had noted what the sub-category is.....I'll watch for and post it.  Anyway, this one inserts a color.....which can easily be mistake as colored vinyl.  99% of what I list is black vinyl; and when I have a rare colored vinyl item, I (as in ME....are you reading this Pinkie) insert the unusual colored vinyl I am offering.
