....working at a hospital or some other place you absolutely must come in or be fired.
Mobile, Alabama. Started at 7 AM ... it's 1 PM now .... and there's still 5 more hours of snowfall ahead. Pretty sure this will set a record.

I've had jobs like that. When I lived in Seattle we once had 10" of snow dumped on us - we rarely get more than an inch at most and most winters nothing, so the city just grinds to a halt. I ended up snowshoeing to my office - fortunately, it was only 6 miles each way. I saw someone come in on Xcountry skis. 😋 It was actually kind of fun - didn't have to go up to the mountains to go play in the snow, but the hills were a workout.
Nice photos, though!

If only climate change weren't a hoax.

I would do a 'sick day' and stay home and watch Netflix movies having mimosas on the couch.
But alas, it never snows or never hails where I live.
Heck, I think no more rain until November where I live...it's been dry this month which is unusual.

During that same storm I snowshoed over to visit some friends - I asked them if they had been out yet. The said they were exclusively "après ski people" 😄 Hey - fair enough!

We haven't had any snow this winter here in Canada.
Well, Victoria BC.
Sunny and 6C.
But my camellias are not blooming at all this year, and they usually are by New Year and occasionally by Christmas.

It "never" snows here either. So who knows, you may be in for a shock someday. 😆

Is that your home? It's gorgeous! I have the weather Channel on and just as I was reading your post, they were talking about Mobile.
Working in a hospital isn't that bad, I was unionized. But yes they don't shut down they just mandate the previous shift to stay if to many call ins, been there done that!
Thanks for the lovely pics.

Oh she has her tracking number, but I've already let her know it might not do anything for a while.

I'm in Louisiana. It's not normal to have snow here.
That picture was taken a few hours ago...my driveway is covered now.

San Francisco is similar to Victoria weather...always great.
Only it's a little warmer and dryer where I live.
Still, I would move to Victoria in a flash if I could.

Weather dot com says "once in a generation snow storm" and first ever blizzard warning. Geez! My advice - do what we do in the Pac NW - just shut everything down and either go play in it, or curl up with a cup of cocoa or some hot toddy and enjoy the view.
Of course, before then, there's the usual stampede to the grocery store to buy bread, milk and beer. Then, at least at my house, the power goes out.

Thank you, yes it's my house ... er, rental. Built in the 40's and surrounded by other gorgeous old places including that ancient cemetery right around the corner, snug as a bug in a rug thanks to the bricks (I don't even sweat hurricanes really), big fenced front and back yard, garage .... $825/mo. Living in a poor state does have its' advantages.
