It appears you can use Paypal Credit/Pay in 4 even if you have to pre-authorize an offer or Buy

I reluctantly bid on an item that had the pre-authorization in place (I prefer PP Credit for over $100 items). I happened to be watching the auction. I won the auction. The message said my "pre-payment" would occur in 60 minutes and it gave me the option (within 60 minutes) to "Change my Payment Method" and pay immediately.

Well, I followed up, and lo and behold, when I did that Paypal Credit was one of the options available (during this 60 minute post auction period, even though I previously pre-authorized just my regular PP account)...

I changed my method, and it went through fine.

I am posting this because I was not aware we could do this........

Perhaps this is new and/or something they are trying out..

It would be nice because this is a big issue for many buyers. 

I use credit cards so it doesn't matter to me too much but I know it matters to a lot of people.

   Yes I won an auction for $400.00 plus dollars a few days ago. I almost didn't bid because that much money out for an "I want it" (Custom knife from South Africa from US seller) purchase means I would have to pay closer attention to how much I spend this month. Even then I didn't expect to win for such a low price.

   When I checked my purchase history to see if I won (forget how much time later) sure enough I won and it was awaiting payment. I chose PayPal Credit and it's on the way to me.

   I'll just pay it in two installments instead of one and treat myself to a nice bottle of scotch. I'll still have to pay attention but the scotch will make it........................less stressful...Nice Arno Bernard knife! (not Case)

It's still a pain in the ass. Twice now I have forgotten to remove the preferred payment method when using "buy it now" and instead of going to PayPal's site to choose a credit payment, I instantly paid for these purchases from my linked account. I have to provide, change and then remove PayPal EVERY time I want to bid on an auction... I just don't bother anymore. And I promise you there would be a whole lot of **bleep** off sellers If they actually knew why no one is bidding on their auctions anymore.

It amazes me how an established corporation like eBay can still be be making so many foolish decisions to fix such simple problems.
