Issues with Bids and not Receiving Payment

I posted an item that an international profile bid on with 1 review.  The bid closed and I sent a courtesy reminder to the payer to pay, but they have not responded.  I'm concerned that this is a bot.  Has anyone been able to reach an ebay customer service rep to help get this resolved?

You don't need an eBay customer service rep... you only need patience. Your buyer has two full days to pay and isn't required to message you.

Cancel the order after at least 96 hours and cite 'Buyer didn't pay'... that is, if they still haven't. The 96-hour window starts with the sale's end time, but will reset with every invoice you send... so don't send those.

For what it's worth, I've sold to 1 users before... I assumed that they finally sat down to my item. Hope for the best!

Dont send any more invoices.

CS cannot help with this.

IF the buyer does not pay in 4 days, go in and file "buyer did not pay"

You can relist and the buyer will get an Unpaid item strike.

Most sellers have their account set up so any buyer with 2 Unpaid in 12 months cannot purchase from them.

I cant imagine why you think BOTs are bidding on your items but it is not so...

I thought a bidder had 4 days before a seller can cancel the auction order. Is this something new?

I won auctions last week and eBay said I had 4 days to pay up. I paid up after 2 days because I was out of town.

And I sent no emails to seller when I was going to pay.

It's a holiday weekend God only knows what buyers could be doing at the last minute although this is international so it may not be three days. It looks like your preferences are set to selling to US sellers only so I am assuming the foreign buyer is using a FF or has a US based shipping address.

As a side note there is a new setting in your account preferences you can turn on that requires buyers to provide payment information before they bid on an auction or make an offer. From your account settings select selling preferences then edit Your buyers managing who can buy from you.

At the bottom check the boxes for the following two options. There are of course trade offs to doing this ranging from not being able to do combined shipping easily, this is a turn off for buyers for a number of reasons, the buyer may ask you to cancel even after they have paid or return the item once they receive it.

I have done auctions in the past. This sounds good but it might reduce bids of certain buyers and thus a lower winning bid.

You basically sell the same items in a category...repeat bidders is what you want. Are some winning bidders going to be slow in paying...yes...but higher winning bids and repeat buyers would be my business plan.

I don't want to limit who can and cannot bid or buy my items unless it's a blocked country like Cuba or North Korea. I prefer not to put limitations on a buyer. Just my opinion.

Ayup, my thoughts also. I turned off the options for requiring pre-bid payment info, as I'm not too concerned about non-payers, and have the Unpaid Item Assistant (or whatever we're calling it these days) set up to automatically stomp on the Unpaid Item (and award the buyer an Unpaid slap) with a cancellation at 96 hours. I have occasional non-payments, but not a lot.

I prefer to have the occasional Unpaid auction, rather than a confused last-second bidder who can't snipe the auction in time because he wasn't expecting a payment info screen. I do have the pre-Offer payment required, because that's leading into what should be a one-and-done transaction if we agree on a price, but for auctions, no.

Is this for the listing titled “2021-22 Panini Contenders Alperen Sengun RC AUTO - SGC 8.5, Auto 10”?

Do not call eBay as nothing needs resolved— yet. Bidding ended today about 2+ hours ago and you have already sent a “courtesy” payment reminder? eBay sends plenty of reminders. Your sending one nearly immediately is unnecessary. Your buyer has a full 4 days to remit. In comparison, I give my (rare) auction buyers a week to remit before i issue any kind of message regarding payment.

Patience is in order here. Too much pre-payment contact can annoy buyers, and if particularly aggressive, can lead a buyer to abandon the transaction. Also, when a seller sends an invoice, it will reset the payment clock back to 96 hours, and could potentially delay payment further.

Even if this is for an older payment, patience is still a good practice to follow.

The OP does not offer shipping outside the US, BUT they are not specifically blocking International buyers. This means that a foreign buyer using a foreign address can purchase but then they cannot pay because no shipping amount is specified.

Relax.
You have entered into eBay's ironclad "legally binding contract" with your buyer.
Which is entirely unenforceable.
Actually "laughable" is a better term.
But anytime you have an "experience" on this place that doesn't result in you losing money, or your merchandise?
That's a "win".
Count yourself lucky.

This was one of the side effects of eBay implementing the EIS program, which I believe the OP will find they are enrolled in even though they don't sell internationally and have not specifically excluded countries in their account settings. If I look at one of the OP's listings the messages are there.

Not sure if opting out of EIS and specifically excluding countries will eliminate the messages.

I pretty much agree and I also turned off the options once I discovered I had them turned on unilaterally by eBay. I was just pointing out the option to the OP. For years sellers complained about non-payers so eBay came up with a solution but as with anything there are trade-offs so each seller has to weigh their own preferences. I simply choose to deal with the occasional non-payer rather than deal with the impacts of using the options.

Sending a "courtesy" payment reminder is good.

It's much better than a standard annoying payment reminder.
