I have some Clorox wipes that a former roommate convinced me to buy LONG BEFORE the coronavirus ever hit.
She doesn’t live here anymore and I didn’t want to waste them so I never threw them out. I would like to get rid of them.
If I put them up for auction and they sell for more than X amount, is it legally considered price gouging? It’s not like I went and bought a bunch of them for the purpose of reselling them. I view it as just a few items of my old junk that may have increased in value due to high demand.
Thoughts?

If that container of Clorox wipes is taking up valuable space in your living quarters, and you feel an urgent need to get rid of them, perhaps it would be a good idea to donate them. Try a local police or fire station in your area, or a health-related facility, or a local store that has had to stay open, or any of a million other locations that might be able to use them.
Or use them yourself. Keep them in your car and use them at the gas station or to open doors to stores or to clean your hands when you get back in your car from shopping.
I suggest these alternatives because you cannot list them on eBay--neither for a fixed price or for an auction. Period. It has nothing to do with the cost of the item or the shipping or the auction results.
Effective immediately, eBay will block new listings and start to remove listings that sell:

You can't sell them here as they are banned for now.

They all say that. Funny how many people just happen to have all those extra Clorox wipes laying around to sell. Sorry Ebay says NO, you cannot sell them here.
