I had an international buyer who won an auction of mine. I got a message saying I needed to send them a shipping invoice, to which I said that the shipping costs shown were already correct and that they were all good to check out. Today, a few days later, I got a message saying that they had already paid for the item with a friend's Paypal account, but I have no idea how that would work in theory with seller protection nor did I see any payments made from the friend's name or for the specific amount. Is this person just confused at how this works, or is this a scam to get me to ship unpaid? I'm not accusing anyone, I'm just not quite sure what to make of it. The account was made the day of the auction for my item with zero reviews. Any insight or advice would be appreciated!

Scam. Put them on your BBL (Blocked Bidder List)
Asking for an invoice was so they could send you a fake PP paid notice. When that didn't work, they told you they paid, hoping you wouldn't check.
Congratulations on not falling for this.
