And if you send him your email address, eBay bots will cheerfully block you from doing business for a week.  Oh joy.

As everyone has said, scam.  Be sure to report the buyer to eBay as well.

No telling how pervasive this is, but the sad fact remains that ebay COULD put an alert on every sold notification to NOT respond to emails like this, and to report them.
BUT...they NEVER WILL. That would be admitting they have a problem...and that's a no-no ebay land.
ebay has your back...unless you're a seller.
