Is there a way to force faster payment at the end of an Auction

Hello,

My auction ended last night and I haven't received payment. Now it might seem like I'm being impatient but in my experience over the years, most auction winners pay immediately or early the next day if an auction ends late in the day.

Most of the times I haven't received payment at this point, I never get paid, and I have to wait a few days to cancel the sale so I can repost and I end up losing the chance to sell to the next highest bidder because of a loss of interest.

Also, the account is brand new with no feedback. That also makes me suspicious. I'm mostly venting but is there a way have ebay automatically process payment at the end of an auction?

Thank you

Buyers have 4 days to pay.

If you don't want to wait, list as a fixed price with immediate payment required.

Have A Great Day.

I wish there was a way you could vary how many days buyers had to pay. You can always reach out to the buyer and see if they can give you an update on when they are planning to pay. Sometimes if you phrase it as you are trying to schedule their shipment based on payment it comes off a little less aggressive and annoying. Just be polite and professional.

There is an option in the Buyer Requirements to specify that the bidder must provide a payment method in advance to place a bid, but it is not clear if the requirement applies to every possible bidder or not. When eBay started testing the feature, only some buyers were subject to that requirement.

Still, if you want to use auctions, that might be worth pursuing.

There is a similar setting for offers.

I contacted the buyer and I'm leaving it alone until the 4 days have passed.

Thanks

I have that requirement active.  But I'm not sure it forces and immediate payment. I think it just makes sure that bidders have a way to pay in the system.

The problem with the "bidder must provide a payment method in advance to place a bid" is that many potential buyers are loathe to give their financial information to a stranger and there are fewer bids.

Fixed Price /Immediate Payment Required  is good for 30 days or until someone actually pays and does not seem to have any adverse affect.

Or

Be patient about the 96 hours the winning bidder has to pay.

It may not force an immediate payment in any case -- eBay has been experimenting with allowing a delay (on the order of an hour, I think) so that buyers can combine auctions or offers into one order, or to even change the payment method. After an hour or so, if the buyer has not provided another valid payment method or checked out, the original payment method may be charged by eBay.

This is all assuming that the buyer is subject to the seller's Buyer Requirement settings.
