Is there a new Algorithm /Glitch/blackout that is happening since July 1, 2019??

I normally don't complain about sales. I figure I am in control of what I can or

cannot make on this site, by how much effort and the type of merchandise I offer.

Well since the beginning of July, nothing seems to work. I usually sell between

1-3K monthly. So far this month I am on pace for my worst month ever, and may not sell $300.00

worth of merchandise this month at this pace. My sales are generally somewhat

consistent and very rarely do I have

any dry spells.

Do I need to end more listings and make new ones out of them?

Do I need to list more or less?

Do I need to promote all listings?

Do I need to put everything on sale via markdown manager?

Sales are going so slow this month that I am trying to figure out what is the best approach to

jump start my sales. I do not sell on other platforms and I don't want to now.

I want to be a happy camper on this platform and I am just searching for the right formula

to get back to the sales I normally have.

Any suggestions???

You’re not alone! :(( I had a surge of sales for a week before July 4th and now no lookers or bids.
Hopefully will pick up.

Not sure about glitches, or whatever causes sales surges/slumps.

May/June the wife's account went into a slump with sales so slow, that if it continued at that pace, TRS could be in jeopardy.

This months sales have already(knock on wood) exceeded 2/3's of each of the previous months at only 9 days in, with no basic changes in inventory.

My accounts bottomed out sharply in March, and then spiked back up Apr-Jun.

Sales are not weather/Holiday/vacation/seasonally affected items.

I've been wondering if when I end listings ahead of the roll-over caused by GTC in order to re-list them as a new listing whether a specific eBay algorithm penalizes me, because it seems my sales drop off after ending a large amount of listings.

I have increased my store level, added many new items, added some unusual aka rare-ish items, promoted ALL of my listings some as much as by an extra 10-12%, and have been allowing my listings to roll-over per GTC. My downtrodden sales level has not increased, so basically it appears either eBay is in a deep sales slump (more than usual for the summer doldrums) at least for us small sellers or they have out smarted themselves with their newest less-functional payment, promoted listings and GTC policies - that are backfiring

Also, we buy many, many items on eBay and are completely flabbergasted that when we are in the process of making a purchase that we are inundated with ads for the same or similar things from other sellers, some at lower prices. Why shouldn't we stop our purchase from the 1st seller and buy the equivalent item at a lower price from an equally dependable 2nd seller?? It is especially frustrating working with this platform, especially when we are trying to follow their parameters.

For instance, I'm getting dinged for each of my ads that has a link to a relevant category of my store, and I'm not using shortened links, only direct eBay.com links. I'm wondering if I'm being penalized for pointing my potential customers to my store? Color me puzzled...

I had a buyer contact me on June 28th, the week my sales took a nose dive. Said he tried to purchase, but kept getting a message that "seller wasn't excepting payments at this time"........WTH!!
I had him try the BIN or putting in his cart first.
He said neither worked, still getting same message.
I contacted eBay yesterday and they said they did have this problem back in May for one day, but it had been fixed.

@dentalsales4u

This is not just a May problem (eBay CSR's are soooooooo clueless) ... it has been a reported problem for at least 4-5 years, affecting individuals for random reasons.  Though it has never happened to me, others have said that this is a PayPal issue and not an eBay issue - it is a mystery as to what causes it, but most speculate that PayPal is having trouble communicating with the seller's credit card, email, or bank account.  With enough time, the communication gets restored and the blockade dissolves.

If you don't want to wait, can it be fixed by the seller?   It seems so ...

Sellers who have gone into PayPal and changed (maybe refreshed) links to bank accounts, credit cards, emails, etc. found that this broke the log-jam and sales started up again.   Here's a success story from 4 years ago.

Same for us, were down about 40% over last 30 day, no idea why. We noticed the decline starting in may, before that we had a long run of stable sales, last July was a peak month, so far this month down 80% if it continues. Is what it is.

I've been getting time out's on connects, links that end up in an Oops error page and on and on. The platform is increasingly becoming more unstable.

It's not you, it's us.

One poster reported being unable to log in for two months, March - April.  Others have reported that issue for shorter durations.
