Is there a Pokemon group? And one other question . . .

I am listing some Pokemon cards--I know nothing about them so have been depending on googling, but was hoping I could find a group here in the community that might help me out.  I searched but couldn't find anything in the groups listed--any ideas? (If you happen to look at them in my listing, i have intentionally priced them very high, just fyi)

My other question is--I am getting ready to list an fairly expensive sculpture.  In order to prove the value, I wanted to include a screenshot of where a similar sculpture is offered for sale at a gallery.  Is that allowed?

I can't really tell from the policies:

One of the best things you can do is to spend several hours studying how the other Pokemon sellers on ebay do it. Check the "Sold" listings so you can concentrate your time researching the more successful sellers who aren't just listing but who are actually selling. That way you see what works and just as importantly what doesn't work. Then you can put whatever you learned into your own words.

As far as adding the screenshot you mentioned to "prove" the value of your item, in addition to what castle said, I would also avoid doing it for the following reason:  Not only could it be perceived as being tacky, but it's kind of a turnoff for a buyer to think that the seller is trying to educate them on value. If you have a rare or hard to find item, don't worry, the heavyweight collectors will find it and bid on it.

There is an option that states, GROUPS, at the top of the page.  I checked under Special Interest Groups and didn't see Pokemon.  You might check there to be sure.

You could check Facebook or do a google search.

It is not advisable to have pictures of anything that is not in the listing, in the listing.

Thank you so much adkthinker, that was very helpful. My problem with the cards is not so much selling tips, but simply identifying them accurately. There are so many variations of each card that are distinguished only by some slight difference that it can be hard to tell. I am literally getting a headache from trying to read tiny markings, lol

But--GREAT idea about the sculpture--that makes perfect sense!

Yes, i did look there--couldn't find anything close, but I've been sent to groups before that I didn't recognize as being related to my question simply because I was not expert in the topic.  But thank you.

You're welcome!  As @adkhighker said, check out listings to see what knowledge you can glean that way.

Is there a Pokemon group? And one other question . . .

A few years back I took hundreds of Magic The Gathering cards on consignment.

Checking eBay "solds" was fine, but what really helped me identify and separate ordinary cards from the valuable were a couple of sites I found by using google.

If it were me I'd put into google search something like "Pokemon cards list value" (without the quotes, of course) and check out what comes up.  These sites might be of more use than Facebook.

One of the easier ways to identify the Pokemon cards is to search by the title and the card number/cards in set. For example: Pikachu 50/102. You can usually get the exact set that way as most of them have different card numbers and or differing amount of cards in the set.

No problem and best of luck with everything. Oh, and thank YOU for the adkthinker moniker. As unintentional as I'm sure it was, I don't often get called a thinker, so I kind of liked the sound of it! grin

haha, no need to apologize.  It sounded good, even if it was just temporary! 🙂

Hey, you're gonna be seeing Pokemon characters in your dreams tonight if you don't give your eyes a break from those cards soon! 🙂

Quick tip.  1st edition shinys are usually worth a bit.  It is listed on the card as a 1st edition.  Separate those out first and go from there.  Do not sell anything until you do research because a mint 1st edition charazard is worth a whole lot.

Wherever you go, there you are. Please remember, when you are asked if you are a god, you say yes.
