Perspectives from past attendees would be appreciated... what exactly do you get for your $350?

I have never attended and never will; however, examining what eBay has not told its users in the past may help you to ascertain if its worth attending.
I am surprised eBay's TOS does not say its fee avoidance if you do not attend.

The silence is deafening which I guess is an answer of sorts. Most of the conventions I have been to in the past do not charge an entry fee because association membership grants access. If they want to charge a fee, they really should do a better job with their "Item Description". It really is a gamble.... so I guess Las Vegas is fitting.

I've been to the last two ebay Lives, Chicago and Vegas. They were fun and worth it to me... but then again they were around 70-80 bucks. Not 350-500 dollars.

It's worth a million to watch speakers talk as if you were a child and promote themselves as the guiding lights, and crack a joke here and there to make you feel better about wasting your money.

Why anyone would pay 350.00 to go to this worthless thing is beyond me. A bunch of people that have no clue what they are doing talking about a decaying site and convincing you they have all the answers. Yeah I'll pass. Maybe Griff will dance around in a bear suit? And 350 for this? Take your 350 and go to something people actually care about, or go blow it playing slots. At least get something out of your money

Well, given that you would all be there face-to-face, there would be opportunities for those opposed to the GTC edict to confront eBay contacts in person and make their views known. I get the impression that it's going to be a rather hot topic, regardless of whatever the planned events are, although the cost of attending (plus travel to and from Vegas) seems like a rather high bar for some people, including me; I'm sitting this one out.

This reminds me of my past Amway conventions. The blah, blah, blah of how you would make it to the top and be rich and famous.
When you create an event, such event is, and should be for the purpose of celebrating the achievements of those who have made it by utilizing a system that benefits those who dare to step in front of the line. You don't create an event to present people to step to the front to face an execution squad.

That is quite a price change there!

If the responses were a resounding "Yes" I might take the leap... I think I only got one lukewarm "yes" if it was $70 still. The people in the pics look so happy and enthusiastic, but the content of what they have planned for it is a bit lacking. Maybe more specifics will be unveiled later. Thanks to everyone that responded.

I thought they held it every year, so the reference to the last two eBay lives would have meant the last two years. Sorry.
