Is my goods being hidden? Or stuck in world wide slow sales areas

Sometimes I look up my items randomly and can’t find it.   I hope eBay isn’t going to a pay to play platform

And, yes, eBay IS a "pay to play platform".  Don't you have to pay a final value fee if/when your item sells?
