Yes, it is always possible to get scammed.
All any buyer would have to do is make a false claim.
I wouldn't sell a $700 on ebay let alone a $7,000 item.
"Don't sell anything on ebay that you can't afford to lose."

Same chance as any other buyer. In fact, I'd say we have less trouble with 0 feedback buyers than ones with lots of feedback. I'm not familiar with any details of the authentication program and how that affects their options for return or refund, but the fact that they have 0 feedback isn't a factor.

Is it an item you have listed with the Authenticity Guarantee? >> Selling with Authenticity Guarantee | eBay
Without seeing the item, you'll still be held to your Returns policy, should your buyer want to return it. If that's how it plays out, it's sent back to the Authenticators before it's returned to you... so it should be the same item you'll receive (to refund) upon return.
There's always a chance for a scam, but I suppose it's as safe a transaction as any. Good luck.

Van, read the reply of INHAWAII. If you still have concerns, reread the reply of INHAWAII until you are no longer in doubt as to IF you should proceed with listing. In my opinion, your posted situation has an unfavorable risk:reward ratio.

Authenticity....can be a slow, slow process.
Rather than tell you not to do it...let's just say it will be a long time before you get any money.
So if you are thinking quick cash...this is not it.
First, you won't see a dime for 30+ days since you haven't sold anything for 30 days.
You will have to use your own money to ship item out in your time frame.
Time for item to go to eBay...then authenticated...and then to buyer and then maybe get your cash in 30+ days if you are lucky.
And keeping your fingers cross authenticity will say it is authentic.

Optimist.😋
Until you've been selling for 90 days and sold 25 items your payments will be held until tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there's no tracking. They can hold the payment for the full 21 days if you're selling in a high risk category.
We non-US sellers have to allow 30 days because... we're foreigners and can't be trusted?

VERY possible, especially a $7,000 item. I'd be careful and think about selling it someone where else, not on eBay. I'd be careful if you're considering it...scammers are everywhere.

It is always possible to get scammed on eBay. inhawaii probably gave you the best advice. I am not sure what the item is, some items are bigger targets for scammers than others, but a 7K item in itself is a nice target. The authentication programs are supposed to reduce your risk but it will not eliminate it. If you are selling internationally and it is not going through the EIS program be extra cautious.
About the only thing I would add to other comments is if you go through with this make sure you have enough shipping insurance to cover the item. I have had 5 packages lost by USPS this year all of which I have been reimbursed for but USPS only provides $100 basic insurance on covered classes of packages.

This was more of just this seller who is not new but hasn't sold for awhile of 30+ days.
New sellers...that's probably a different story.
