Is anyone else having problems with adding EPID numbers?

I try to add this "epid" to my listing but I'm its frustrating and time consuming not only to add to my current listings but also to my new listings. If I choose from a recommended epid number, it wants to use a stock photo.  I sell used parts not new stock photo parts. When I submit for a new epid number, it gives me various reasons why they declined it.  I have 4000 listing approx. and no time for this **bleep**. I did get to succesfully obtain a couple epid numbers but its takes a day to get confrimation. Who has a day to wait. Why can't we just add their stu"epid" number to our listings without all the bull **bleep** associated with it.  I see lots of returns coming because the buyer thought they were getting what was in the stock photo.  I also see many sellers finally saying its just not worth it anymore.  Does anyone else have any thoughts on this issue?  I have usually adapted pretty well to their changes but see no easy way with this one.

@abelding707, you might want to post this problem over on the Product Catalog discussion board as those working with that feature hang out there more often than here.

I do not think used items have to have the attributes?  That might have changed but I doubt it.  I understand the desire to use them so you can show in more search results.

I think I read where you can unclick the stock photo and or the catalog details?  Not sure what it looks like in the listing but I would look in that direction if you choose to use the EPID or unique identifirers for your used items.

Good Luck Selling!

The entire procedure for adding to the product catalog can be described as cumbersome, non-intuitive, clumsy and clunky ... never working the same way twice in succession and in NO way does it even approach a 24 turn-around time.

I have one “request” that has been “pending” for 3 days now. I also have a couple that absolutely refuse to be accepted, despite having every item specific EXACTLY as suggested, even the Title. As I understand this rollout, it was only in a few categories, and a handful of items.

I also refuse to use the Epid. I’d rather my item be buried in search than have it show a picture in the listing of what is NOT my item, in this eBay environment, a sure-fire path to SNAD complaint.

I envision a complete site-wide meltdown when this garbage goes full tilt.

I'm ̶p̶r̶e̶t̶t̶y̶ ̶s̶u̶r̶e̶ certain the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

eBay is ready for that, too.  Too many returns, too many SNAD reasons (just to get free return shipping) and you end up in the 40% final value fee increase camp. Just another game in the ebay seller roulette sceanario where the pay off is indeed 'in favor of the house'.  Good luck with this.

I keep wondering when they get to more of the "vintage" categories if they will have a seperate epid number for REAL Roseville pottery and another for the made in China fakes.
