Hey everyone, this may be a weird question, but it's driving me crazy.
Whenever I create my listings, Ebay will auto-fill certain item specifics based on my title, and I have to end up wasting time clearing out inaccurate info.
Ie I could say "Robble Robble Item Mint in Box" and the item specifics will auto-fill my item subject as 'boxing' or "Sweetheart Figurine From Robble Robble" and it will auto-check 'sweetheart' under character family.
Then I have to go through my item specifics and clear out this silly info.
Is there a way to stop auto-filling item specifics based on my titles?

You need to do it when making the listing. A box comes up showing what eBay is going to add as specifics. You can delete them or change them there.

The short answer is NO. We sellers must be diligent and look at every single check box where extra money might be spent on unwanted fees. Your question addresses item specifics, which is great. More importantly we need to watch out that ebay hasn't filled in the sell internationally box, or checked off the charge me for a large photo package box we didn't ask for. The examples are endless. Seller beware!

I was afraid the answer would be no, but can't say I'm shocked. I am really diligent about making sure everything is correct on my listing and review them very carefully, I just wish I didn't have to waste time correcting unnecessary things Ebay randomly throws in there from my titles.
Thx for the quick responses!

This has turned into a massive nightmare for me. I maintain between 6000 and 8000 listings depending on my motivation level. I spend a solid 25 hours a month undoing all of the auto fill that eBay has screwed up

Quite possibly one of the dumbest features ever created on a website is Ebay's "Auto-Fill" for Item Details. These entries should be "Optional" and Ebay should absolutely not be relying on extremely faulty AI that almost always misrepresents the listing and wastes sellers' time trying to fix it. Not to mention, they also have a serious bug in the App where the auto-fill can't be undone. Every time you uncheck or "CLEAR" the auto-fill and save, Ebay's brilliant feature will put it right back in. Now the million dollar question is this - WHO is going to refund both the customer and seller for Ebay screwing up a listing and misrepresenting the item for sale???
