I've only participated in ebay's GSP and have never shipped anything internationally directly myself. A Canadian buyer asked me to opt out of the ebay's GSP due to the high fees. The items I need to ship fit in a large flat rate box. If I opt out, would I just print out a label for a large flate box like I would domestically? Would I then have to fill out a customs form or something?
I read that the max weight for the flat rate box internationally is 20 lbs. So if my item is 25 lbs, I would have to use another box? But if I were to participate in ebay's GSP, I would be able to use the flat rate box since I would be shipping to the domestic center? Then does ebay put it in another box to ship it off to Canada?

Your buyer is lying to you 25 pounds going to Canada sent on your own would be ultra expensive. Sending GSP would be around 50% cheaper....

I shipped a 21 pound CB radio to Canada GSP customer paid was $44.97. Had I shipped it priority mail myself buyers shipping was $118.00 and I would have had zero protect against any INR dispute filed by the buyer...

You can go into the listing in question and click on ships to see details and set it to Canada and it will show you the price the buyer is being shown so you can compare they ship you ship.... Be sure and reset it back to your country and zip code so you see the correct info when you view your listings....

Thanks, the buyer said she sees $90 but I don't even see where she sees this because I haven't actually created an offer to her. She messaged me on my listing that was for a single item, but she wants several of them. My single listing is set to only 4oz first class mail.
If you ship it yourself why wouldn't you still have protection against INR cases? Wouldn't you still be going through ebay shipping and have a valid tracking number, just not through GSP?

To many gamers in the system. Some are called customs hangers item will be sitting in customs note sent for buyer to pick up they don't and instead file a INR dispute ebay finds in favor of the buyer and once refund is issued they beat feet down to customs and pick up the item. Then you have the SNAD crew that they just want a partial refund don't want to return it. If you plan on having ebay help handle any problems don't count on them.

Depends on the total dollar amount involved and if you can except the fact you could loose that amount of money as well as the merchandise. Buyer wants you to help them out,but if the wheels fall off the wagon you helping them out will be of little concern to them...

Did they ask you to make up a fairy story for the customs form too?
Canada, France and Italy...........
Heck no!
