Inaccurate negative feedback from buyer

Received a neg stating the CD "did not come in plastic". This is true but this particular item was never shrinkwrapped to begin with, they all came unsealed. Would this be valid reasoning for eBay to remove the feedback if the buyer does not respond to my messages?

Inaccurate negative feedback from buyer

this is beyond frustrating because it could have been remedied very very easily if they had simply contacted you first.

If the buyer had contacted the seller before leaving feedback, the seller could have unbroken the plastic?

IMO just because a seller offers a refund or replacement, it doesn't mean a buyer will or even should be oh-so-happy.  He bought something described as Brand New and he got something that was broken.  He also didn't buy a replacement or a refund.

Very true but none of us are perfect and hopefully the OP will pack their items better in the future.

Inaccurate negative feedback from buyer

Recently I was able to get a negative removed as the buyer never contacted me after several attempts of trying to resolve the problem.  I sold him some underware that were packaged by the manufacturer incorrectly.  I sent him a new box, uploaded the tracking number, and he never did respond even after receiving the new pairs without having to return anything.  I called ebay and they removed the negative stating that they could see that I gave great customer service and really went above and beyond.  So if you have another plastic piece/or cd to send them maybe consider it if you are wanting the negative reversed.  It would be your best chance at getting it removed.

I'm sure you're a fine seller, but this is a prime example of why feedback for sellers is pointless.  If eBay is going to remove negatives that don't qualify for removal, they should just stop pretending and only allow positives for sellers like they do for buyers.

Inaccurate negative feedback from buyer

@muttlymob

Are you purposely trying to get me to smile today? Walk with me...

If the buyer had contacted the seller first the seller could have offered to send a replacement item and if the inside tray is removable, they could have sent that seperately.  While I understand your position and that neither of these solutions may have been satisfactory for the buyer, the reality is you nor I know what the outcome could have been when someone doesn't communicate.

If you're saying you have that ability, to read and predict future outcomes of what buyers will do in any given scenario, you my friend have a highly sought after talent similar to a savant and would be a multimillionaire over night. If you don't, your guess is as good as anyone elses as to how this could have ended differently had the buyer chosen to direct their flow of energy towards a different form of action.

Thanks.

Inaccurate negative feedback from buyer

Did you state in the listing that the item was not shrink wrapped?

Reading comprehension is often helpful.

My post in no way stated what this or any buyer will actually do.

My post presented an alternative possibility for those sellers who believe that refunding or sending a replacement to a buyer who receives something broken automatically results in a happy buyer.

Possibility.  As in, what could happen.  Not what is guaranteed to happen.

You originally stated that the situation could have been remedied very very easily.  Are saying you have that ability, to read and predict future outcomes of what buyers will do in any given scenario?  Because paying off an unhappy buyer is not guaranteed to result in positive feedback.

PS, this thread is now apparently a moot point because the seller has added to his feedback revision count.
