I had an ad removed by Ebay because they claimed it violated their Drug and Drug Paraphernalia policy. The ad was for a part for a tablet press machine (industrial piece of equipment) that can be used to manufacture pharmaceutical or candy products (SweetTarts, for example). They claimed that because it was a part that could be used to manufacture "Drugs" or used as "Drug Paraphernalia" it violated their policy.
When I pointed out that there were thousands of parts and entire machines listed on Ebay that are used for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, some upwards of $30,000, they commented that they just haven't gotten to those yet. I also pointed out that it is not illegal to sell such products in the US, but to no avail.
After my call, I checked on Ebay and found multiple listings for joint holders (99 listings), joint rolling papers (129 listings), roach clips (1755 listings), glass pipes (27,233 listings) and Bongs (8585 listings). You can imagine how frustrating it was to see so much true "Drug Paraphernalia" so blatantly listed (and apparently ignored by Ebay).
And yet here I am an honest individual trying to sell a legal product that Ebay will not allow allow me to post.
I don't know if this is the right forum but I just had to express my frustration and disillusionment with Ebay on their improper and inconsitent application of their own policies.

In all likelihood, someone else who is selling the same type of thing reported you.
ebay will tell you that they can't police everything, but they are working on it. They can program a 'bot to find possible messages about taking sales off-site, but they can't program a 'bot to find bongs or other specific drug-related items, or prevent them from being listed. Cutting-edge tech? Besides, those things sell well, while yours would take a specific user.

Policy does seem to change all the time. Someone probably one of your competitor reported you. Best regards
