Immediate Payment... Has something changed?

A couple nights ago I got the cha ching we all like to hear but when I looked to see what it was in my "need to ship," section it wasn't there. It was an item that did in fact have the "immediate payment,'' in the listing, but some how this buyer was being given 48 hours to pay for the item, (got message from ebay) Luckily the buyer did end up paying the following morning, but "immediate payment," should mean immediate payment. I also noticed, as I had 3 total of these items available that this item was pulled out of my available Quanity. If they want to be like Amazon, then they need to fix the pulling from the available quanity , because I'm pretty sure that even on Amazon, if you for say go to purchase the last available item and you have it in your chart and neglect to pay for it, it's still available for another buyer to come in and snatch the last item available up. Yes I know this wasn't my case as I had 2 left, but it's just the principal of it all. And if "immediate payment," doesn't really mean "immediate payment" now than where's a message in my inbox in my ebay messages accessible thru my ebay account, as I've not received any such announcement.     Just trying to figure out if I've missed some secret announcment I'm not prevy to?

The first thing I'd do is go to the listing and make sure that the eBay gremlins haven't removed the "Immediate payment required" from the listing.

If an item is purchased, it SHOULD be removed from your Quantity Avialable, even if it hasn't been paid for. Otherwise you could end up selling an item when you're actually out of stock.   What if that listing had still said "3 available" and somebody came along and purchased all 3? Then you'd have nothing left to ship to the first buyer if and when he pays.
