Come on ebay, YouTube still has vids from day 1... you can at least do a year on ths. I don't want to redo all the work I put into a basically carbon copy listing

Ok, thanks guys - at least I know what I need to do now - it's been a while since I asked this question; really appreciate all the fast replies. Like a doof a deleted all those 'sold' emails, I just looked. I'll just redo the listing and make sure I save any emails going forward. Thanks again 🙂

What part of the listing did you want them to still have?

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

While you may not be able to access the Sold listings beyond 90 days via links in your Seller Hub, they're still retrievable if you have the listing number. Go into your off-eBay email account that receives your eBay-related email, find any reference to a listing of yours from more than 90 days ago (e.g. a Sold notification), and click on the listing link there. There's a good chance that it should come right up.

I have retrieved listings of mine as far back as several years ago, though the photos are usually either partly or totally gone. Nevertheless, if I'm listing a new example of a widget that I only sell rarely, I can still find the old entry in order to do a Sell Similar with that as a starting point, and just add fresh photos.

For example, here is a Sold item of mine from 2014 that I retrieved just now. I think this link should work for you too; try it out:

IDK that Ebay has ever said they were going to extend that period of time.  It would take a whole lot of space to keep all those listings available to sellers.  Worldwide there are over 25 million sellers.  That would be billions if not more.

This is where a third party program becomes worthwhile.  Find one you like and keep all your templates and listing copies in there.  Then you don't have to be concerned about what Ebay does or doesn't do.

There are lots of free programs out there and ones you have to pay a little for.  You just need to decide which one best suits your needs.

Images take up a ton of space - but text data needs just chump change storage. Im sure thats why they dump images but old listings are defintely retrievable. Not all of them can be found so yes- they do dump complete listings but they keep others. I have no idea how they decide which ones to keep - so its always worth a try if you have a link to your old listing.

Because YouTube/Google makes money on every video you watch (advertising), there is no money to be made keeping old archived eBay listings online and the amount of ACTIVE server space required would be massive.

It wouldn't surprise me if eBay does have most of that info buried on archived hard drives that they could retrieve if needed (say for a court order).

Youtube stands to make money every time an old video is played.

eBay makes nothing from ended listings.

you can at least do a year on ths.

If they did a year, people would ask for 18 months.

If they did 18 months, people would ask for 24 months.

If they did 10 years, people would ask for 20 years.

Why can't you just keep a copy in a word document? I have copies of all my unsold listings.

If you have Terapeak you can try that, I was able to find one of mine from 9 months ago that I did not want to have to look up everything all over again.  Then if the link is no good, you can still right click and copy it.....  Good Luck!
