Did you mean:

If people want it, it will sell

LOL.

Look up “vintage Kleenex box.” I have several mid century holders to sell (and they do), but I about fell out of my chair.....

There’s actually a market for old Kleenex! Go check it out, then start digging in the back of your pantries!

LOL.

I did a search for Kleenex and I have never seen this on ebay...

Ads for other websites selling what I search for on ebay.

Some of them lead to the product on Amazon and other sale sites.

What brainiac at ebay thought this up?

Is ebay that hungry for ad revenues that they will lead a buyer  to buy somewhere other than ebay?

I've come to he conclusion that people will collect ANYTHING. If you think vintage Kleenex is funny, try "vintage tampons". Seriously!

Vintage diapers are equally crazy.  Here's a link to recent "solds":

Look up "nothing."  There are 33 items listed and some are literally nothing.  Smiley Indifferent

 A buyer pays $2500 for nothing, and instead gets something;

"To make it clear you will not be getting any items, you will however get a hand written thank you note"

The buyer doesn't get nothing, they get something, a note.

Not as described!

The buyer bought nothing, and wanted nothing, yet gets something.

The buyer files a not as described case, ebay rules in buyers favor, all that trouble for nothing!

or,

Buyer:

I thought I was getting a cat named Nothing.

Funny you should mention that. Maybe 10 years ago now, I sold a 1950s vintage Chevrolet Kleenex holder, a big metal General Motors accessory thing for your car that attached to the lower edge of the dash with a vertical hinge mounting, so you could swing it downward and pull out a Kleenex. It held a standard rectangular box of Kleenex.

I thought that just to be complete, when I listed it, I would include a new box of Kleenex to go with it, so I went to the store, picked up a box, went to put it in the holder, and... it was too narrow. It wouldn't stay in place between the spring retainer clips, because in the half-century or so since the car accessory was made, Kleenex had reduced the width of their full-size tissues by about a half-inch, presumably as a cost saving measure. A vintage Kleenex box would be a perfect fit.

I ended up improvising a cardboard sleeve that would fit between the holder and the box to take up the excess width, but I can see where a picky car restorer would definitely want to find a vintage Kleenex box to go in that vintage Kleenex holder.

Wow! That is interesting! I had no idea these kinds of things actually sell on ebay!

The lesson here is to never discard anything, list it on ebay, even if it takes decades or will never sell, you never really know, someone may someday pay you money to own it.

Smiley Very Happy Smiley Very Happy

After "nothing" was sold and "nothing" was returned ... the only ones that got "something" were ...

  • Buyer (got a note they didn't want)  Smiley Sad
  • Seller (got a SNAD Defect)  Smiley Frustrated
  • eBay (got Fees)  Smiley Happy

Somehow in these situations the Buyer & Seller always lose, and eBay always wins.  And eBay did ... nothingSmiley Indifferent

If I had known back in the 80s what I know now, I would have held on to a few unopened cases of Pampers Smiley LOL

If I had known in the '80s what I know now, I would've bought many shares of Microsoft and Apple.
